meteorologist kathy orr ventured outside to the dark sky deck with more on what we can expect for this weekend, kathy. >> it is chilly out here, chris. temperatures in the 40's and 50's but with the wind, gusting towards 30 miles an hour at times, it is feeling much colder. beginning to feel more like winter. you know we cannot stop it. take a look around the numbers. in philadelphia 50. north and west look at the blue indicating colder temperature, 41 in allentown. forty-seven in reading. thirty-four in the poconos, and going down into the 20's overnight tonight and a few flurries there to the south and east, we have some 40's as well. we will talk about the cold, that is going to be sticking around, state college only 39. pittsburgh 36. and that will be very close to our low tonight. wind gusting to around 30 miles an hour this philadelphia, 28-mile an hour gustness wilmington, gusting to 28 in millville and slowly we will see these wind subside. the cold air coming across the relatively warmer waters of the great lakes producing lake effect snows in new york. some flurries making it

meteorologist kathy orr has more your first forecast. kathy. >> we're talking about a frigid night right now but then things are going to be looking up especially for the weekend and even the first part of next week. on storm scan3 we have the clear skies, the winds lightning up a bit and temperatures are falling fast. 24 degrees right now in allentown, it's 12 in the poconos, 31 in philadelphia but look at millville. unbelievable. 18 degrees. it's not a wind chill that's the air temperature. and when you add that wind which is about five to 10 miles per hour it can feel colder. in allentown feels like 24, in the poconos feels like 14. tomorrow morning we'll wake up to temperatures in the 20's in the city, by noon 41, by the afternoon 43. the high temperature will make it to 46 before falling to 39 degrees by 8:00 p.m. but these temperatures a big improvement over today. coming up, we will be seeing that weekend warmth. temperatures are going to be on the rise chasing record warmth next week and then a chance of rain or even snow over th

meteorologist kathy orr joining us now with a look at just how long this cold will be hanging around and kathy, it's going to get even colder? >> it certainly is, jess. we're talking about the coldest air of the season moving in tomorrow morning but after that it will even get colder next week. first things first. let's look at a partly cloudy skies across the delaware valley. colder air coming across the great lakes creating lake effect clouds and lake effect snow. we'll see clear skies lighter winds and cold temperatures overnight. right now 37 in philadelphia, 31 in allentown, 29 degrees in the poconos. but it feels much colder. the winds out of the west-northwest at about five to 10 miles an hour but even with that lighter wind, when you have temperatures that cold, look what it feels like. feels like 18 in the poconos, feels like 25 in millville and allentown, feels like 24 in atlantic city. that is at the airport. now, coming up we are looking at a cold start to the day tomorrow. the morning low 29. the first time we've seen that since last march. and tomorrow morning elsewhere

. >>> kathy orr joins us now with more on that system that is going to bring some more cold to our area. kathy. >> we have another arctic front that moved through, chris, reinforcing that cold air. the winds are shifting, though, and that is good for some places south of buffalo. you can see that cold air going across lake eerie and that is what's producing this lake effect snow. the snow band was farther north area with a southwest wind. now it has shifted to the south and that is good news for folks that live in orchard park where the bills play and also in areas like hamburg that was hit hard and also west toward andorra and also looking at places like hamburg. so, this is all shifting toward the south and some heavy snow is heading toward the southern part of new york state right along the pennsylvania border there. now, as far as our weather is concerned we are talking about the arctic air but not talking about anything in the way of snow or wet yet, just cold. right now in philadelphia 35, allentown 29 to the north and west 20's and that is what is coming overnight. it feels like

meteorologist kathy orr is live outside bundled up on the cbs-3 sky deck with the cold weather that's already settled in. kathy. >>> already a little breezy out here, chris that. combined with a very cold temperatures are driving wind chills way down across the delaware valley and colder air is coming believe it or not. take look across the delaware valley at our item temperatures. 37 in philadelphia. freezing in wilmington and trenton. freezing in allentown. only 30 in atlantic city at the airport and the poconos it is 28 degrees. with winds out of the northwest at about five to 10 miles an hour, wind chills are driven down into the 20s. it feels like 27 in reading and allentown. trenton. it feels like 24 in millville. feels like 17 in the poconos. coming up we're talking about the coldest morning since last march. in the morning only 29 degrees in philadelphia. colder in our suburbs. here's some of the other numbers you'll wake up to. allentown 26. the poconos 23. only 28 degrees in millville and atlantic city. but with the wind it will feel even colder. now we are looking at anothe

meteorologist kathy orr is here with the latest. kathy? >> let's start with the cold. it's mild for now, but the cold is come here's our arctic front marching through cleveland and the midwest. behind it we're talking about the coldest air of the season and temperatures plunging. the immediate future holds fog and some problems tonight. a dense fog advisory in effect from toms river and ocean county southward through cape may. central and southern delaware until 10:00 o'clock tomorrow morning. we're talking about reduced visibility less than a quarter of a mile at times. in atlantic city and many of our shore points you can see up even toward long island down to about a third of a mile and this is expected to spread inland to interior south jersey as well. visibility will be reduced overnight slow down use those headlights and this will be an issue tomorrow morning right through the morning commute. will the be dissipat dissipatinr about 10:00 o'clock. of course, we have to talk more about the cold. the core of that arctic air will be spilling southward and we are goin
