s moved up very nice with it. but to me at some point yahoo!'s going to have to stand on its own -- >> so there's no pop on yahoo! into singles day? >> it's going to continue to move into alibaba. but at in point alibaba's a much better trading vehicle in my mind. i'd rather trade alibaba and not deal with the mess of the yahoo! core. >> carter. >> it's a classic breakout. ipo high, consolidated, broke out at 15% move. i would harvest some gains here. >> what does this mean for technology, carter? i'm just curious. what do the charts look like? >> one of the issues is technology is the nasdaq composite is being driven by huge names like this. microsoft, of course, and apple. in fact, there are some good statistics showing that. here they are. let's take the nasdaq itself. the composites up on the year. the nasdaq 100 is up 16%. but average stock on the nasdaq is actually downgrade 1%. so you have very much of a skewing. and you could look at it in terms of a cumulative decline line or a breadth line. but we've got big names doing all the lifting

then warm sunshine and some very nice weather over the weekend. that ridge of high pressure going to send all the chance of rain still well to the north. so hopefully we get things going next week but for now it is going to stay dry. around the state you will see rain towards eureka, otherwise looking at numbers in the 70s into sacramento, 81 and warm into fresno and 67 monterey bay. patchy fog likely to linger at the beaches today. sunshine in the valleys with high clouds. then more fog tomorrow morning. 70s into the south bay today. 60s at the coastline. yesterday we had some upper 70s there. but not as warm today. 76 degrees livermore. 78 brentwood. 75 benicia. 73 oakland. 68 san francisco. as we look toward the next few days, cooling down slightly but running above average. then nice warm sunshine saturday and sunday. then cooling down big time as we head into next week. let's check the roads with elizabeth. >>> thank you, lawrence. and out the door, let's see. on this thursday morning commute, we have the bay bridge and typical stuff out the

it will look very nice. a lot of sunshine expect but very cold. wind chills in the 20's all day long with temperatures only in the 30's. you need to bundle up, outside for long period of time, same goes for later on tonight air temperatures falling back in the teens for most of us, buddy we will bring them out not in school but waiting in line, i wonder where he will be waiting, maybe target, where ever all of the best toy selections are, bundled up, you need it with the ear muffs this morning too. temperatures in the 30's, very cold bu wind chills in the teens. 34 degrees outside in philadelphia, this is live shot at the airport behind me. we don't have any weather-related delays. thirty-seven is the high, bright sunshine, breezy and cold, wind gusting to 25 miles an hour at times. into tonight we will fall back to 22, that is just in the city, we are looking at teens. maybe wind chills in the single digits by early saturday morning. rest of the weekend forecast is still ahead but lets see how we are doing, bob. >> not that bad, good morning ever

there's also a group of mounts including a goose effigy, a very nice one, knew the lakeshore, knew the students that a tory them. there are other mounds in the university arboretum just a short distance from us. we are walking onto a mound that is called a two-tailed total. .t is not a turtle mound that was a term that was applied to any effigy mound shown from above so you see all four limbs. it laid out like kind of a bearskin rug. the actual creature that seems to be represented is a spirit .nown as a water panther that it's home to one of the spirits, the lake mendota water spirit. the head of the spirit is up on the top of the hill, just as the bird is. the body extends down the slope as if it is crawling up the lake. one for them extends toward as here. the hind limb extends toward us this direction. then, the tales -- there were two tales that forked just below the hind limbs. one comes this way. the second one went towards the greenhouses and took a right angle turn. why because we knew it is the only two-tailed effigy mound ever recorded in wisconsin. the culture has survived.
