for the latest go back live to fox news correspondent jonathan hunt. jonathan? >> greta. we are in the middle right now of a march that is so much larger than anything we saw last night. there are literally thousands upon thousands of people on the streets of new york. you can can see many of them marching here. we began this at what is the heart of the new york justice system. outside the new york supreme court. outside the federal courthouse. and now these marches, thousands of them as i say have come out to the far west side of manhattan. the west side highway runs from one tip of manhattan to the other. it is five lanes in either direction. right now, every one of those lanes is blocked. as you can see by these marches here and go across the other side. can you see commuters, tourists, everybody trying to get out of the city, unable to at the moment. traffic at a complete stand still. this is a huge march tonight, greta. we are now in hour three. it is set to go on for many more hours. greta? >> jonathan, thank you. and, of course, those are live pictures of new york.

jonathan betz is in new york, where a number of protesters have gathered. jonathan, tell us about the scene. >> john, huge crowds bringing parts of midtown manhattan to a standstill. columbus circle. >> reporter: one of several protests that erupted today after the decision not to indict the officer who killed eric garner. along with a new one saying i cannot breathe. it is the last words eric garner said, when police arrested him on that july night. throughout the streets bringing traffic to a standstill. earlier they tried to approach rockefeller center to interrupt the christmas tree lighting. but at a entire area is locked down, officers a huge line of officers in fact are keeping protesters and large crowds a block away from rockefeller center, protesters can't get close to the tree lighting ceremony. they turned the different direction they are winding their way between cars between buses with their hands in the air trying to block the streets, block the traffic. and demanding justice for eric garner. now all day today, john, the sense of frustration

that john could stop the slide in prices. >> all right jonathan, thank you. kevin kerr, commodities trader in chicago. welcome who do you think benefits from these oil prices now? >> well, certainly consumers, john. look this is a great holiday gift for everybody. everybody is feeling good, extra money in their pocket, gas prices aren't as high, come down considerably. 45% lower than we were for oil prices were for year. after opec said they wouldn't cut production, that really drove the price down. trading below the $60 barrel, we closed near $57 a barrel. the momentum is to keep it going lower. the consumer benefiting in america. >> gasoline prices but tell us where consumers may not see any savings. >> well, at the end of the day we are going to see the short term savings but the long term picture i don't think people are seeing. the behavior isn't changing. behaviors change when things are expensive. when we had oil up near the 95, $98 a barrel level, we saw shale oil booming. we sauterne energies coming online, more off-shore drilling. expensive oil is w
