in 2015, where do you see china? that be honest, we think the situation is just continuing to worsen. we've got the biggest debt bubble that the world has ever seen, and credit is continuing to grow twice as fast as gdp in china. i think a lot of people tend to be more positive on china and ultimately believe the company can grow its way out of the problem, but mathematically, that is impossible. when something is twice as big as something else and growing twice as fast. for us, there's certainly issues with shadow banking and the health of the banks, but on top of that, what is really causing us to be so negative is the deterioration in the growth outlook and the fact that we've got deflation looming on the horizon. >> where do you see the growth outlook for china? a lot of evil holding it at 7%. what are your thoughts? >> we think it is better to look at nominal gdp growth rather than real, and we are looking at a continued slowdown to probably ..75% this year less than 10 years ago, china was consistently growing

china in terms of u.s. companies exposure it's been growing but it's not a major force in their earnings. what is a big force has been buy backs and the more companies buy their stock back the higher their earnings per share growth will be. they were enormous last year and will be this year. that helps boost earnings. i know it's artificial but that's the way the game is played on wall street. >> do we expect the buy backs to continue if we continue to see a rise in volatility? >> definitely. the volatility means there's more ups and downs this year. we'll is more sell offs but it should still be an overall goodyear and the reason it will be a goodyear for stocks is because of the buy backs and the volatility increases the opportunity for companies to buy their stock back because they outsource to wall street trading desks who are great at taking advantage of this volatility. >> last week the s&p 500 lost 3.4% volatilities. losing about 5%. are equities heading higher and if so what's the catalyst? >> the w

you mentioned china. out of that 100, china has at least 14 of those agreements that they have negotiated during that time period. one of them by the way is with with ten different countries. we're not part of it. so our workers are getting left out. i don't know how we're going to make progress in terms of affecting this concern on stagnant wages lack of benefits, high expenses unless we do a better job of selling that those countries all around the world. we don't do a good job. we're somewhere between eveningethiopia and tanga. to mayingke progress on leveling that playing field. as you know you've been very helpful with me on this. we've had a couple of good successes in the last year alone on two products, steel pipes we make in oihio, we want to keep making them. so it's a balance here. we've got to both get more exports out there but also do a better job of making sure that imports are being fairly traded. i've got so many questions for you. i will submit most of these questions in writing but they

and now new data has come out showing that china's economy grow by 7.4% in 2014. now that is not what the government hoped for. they had been hoping for economic growth of perhaps around 7.5%, which is essentially what it has been for the past few years, and this represents the slowest economic growth in china in almost a quarter of a century. why? well, a housing bubble and also a lingering belief that banks are underestimating the extent of bad loans on their books. these are loans that the government encouraged the banks to make to try to stimulate economic growth after the global crash in 2008. >> if we are having a disruptive slowdown, that could be quite bad for china and the world. i don't think that's going to happen. so far it looks like we're going to have a stable adjustment. >> reporter: while china's gdp is slowing, it is still the envy of the world, but it remains an economy that is transforming. retail sales in december were up by almost 12% from a year earlier, industrial output for the same period was also up by almost 7.9%. both were better than
