chuck is talking scott walker and that's right. we are entering what the walker people hope will be a scott walker moment. if you look at the polls, he is down 3, 4% among republicans nationally, does not have a lot of name recognition. however they had that event, congressman steve king right wing iowa congressman had a big cattle call two weekends or a weekend ago. scott walker basically stole the show. he showed up got the best reviews, best response of all candidates there. anybody in that audience including chris christie that was there, and jeb bush skipped the event. it seems there's potential opening for scott walker because i think what the republican party is looking at is bush fatigue. they're looking at it two different distributions, reflected in lukewarm poll numbers. the first is pragmatic. do we want to nominate another bush. can we win doing that. the second as i said the tea party right, the anti-establishment base of the republican party that has a serious problem with george w. bush. and the ideological legacy o

meteorologist chuck bell joins us now with the latest on that snow. are you thinking why is she smiling? >> i smile every time i think about snow, so why shouldn't you? >> i like it when it's coming down. i don't like dealing with it once it's on the ground. >> you and me both. those of us in the weather department shs the lead up to the first flake can be stressful as well. we're trying to narrow down as accurately we can the timing and the amount of snow that's in all likelihood headed our way tomorrow. an 80% chance it's going to snow at your house tomorrow. mother nature doesn't like 100 o% chances being thrown in her face. mostly dry across the area. we have seen one or two lonesome sprinkles and snow pellets as well. these are not going to be impactful in any way shape or form. it's a cloudy day but enough sunlight is getting through where you can see your shadow. cloudy skies and 40 degrees at reagan national. light wind out of the southeast averaging 5 miles per hour. temperatures still in the mid-and upper 30s out to the north and west, but t

he did so with chuck todd for tomorrow's "meet the press." chuck joins us tonight. chuck, no doubt he is watching all this reaction we just showed. what is he saying about it? >> well number one, he's unapologetic about what they do. and he tries to defend and tries to explain this line on what they do with their satire. his explanation, for instance on going after religion, is he doesn't go after the believers. he says they're not attacking people's personal religious beliefs. what he says they do is they only go after religious figures or religious leaders when religion is being used for political gains and political purposes. so his argument is their satire and their use of muhammad is not aimed at muslim citizens. it is aimed at radicals who are using muhammad for their own political gain. it's a very nuanced argument. it was a fascinating conversation. i got a lot more, obviously, from there. including his reaction to the pope's criticism, lester. >> chuck, thanks. remind folks you can watch chuck's full interview with the new editor in chief in "charlie hebdo"

i think chuck is absolutely right. they are very unsure of what they want to do but right now what do they have on the floor the of senate? a keystone pipeline bill that will create 35 permanent jobs they ought to talk about rebuilding our infrastructure our roads, bridges, highways et cetera, and take that bill off the floor. the truth of the matter is we can even do better. we are doing great, but as chuck said it's about the middle class, making sure they get the benefits. and get off this keystone deal because he's going to veto if. 61% of the american people say let the process play out and let's go to a job creation bill. >> chris, they can't help themselves. keystone is a special interest bill it benefits canadians pipeline companies. so we're building a straw, as eddie markie says from canada across the united states to send the oil to the rest of the world. they had an amendment and they couldn't bring themselves to vote for it. that's about jobs. even on this their first issue, which should be their strengths
