a second shooting occurred in copenhagen. these are the latest developments as they continue to change by the minute. a report that one person was shot in the head and two police wounded in an attack, the second the shooting that happen near a synagogue in central copenhagen. the associated press reporting that the suspect in the second shooting fled on foot. right now, police cannot say if it was in fact linked to another shooting that happen in the day in a free speech event roughly two miles from the synagogue. it happen in a cafe. three officers were wounded in that incident and one died. that was described as a wild shootout with the masked gun men getting away by a vehicle. that vehicle was found later abandoned. the entire is on high alert at this hour. the metro station near the synagogue was evacuated as well as they continue to look for the suspect. walid phares is with us. thank you for joining us. >> sure, sure. >> i want to talk more about the swedish cartoonist that was the target he believes of the shooting and

let's go straight to nic robertson who joins us from copenhagen. what do we know from police about these two other arrests at a nearby cafe. i know those just happened today, i'm wondering if they believe they were all instrumental in this or if they still believe that the gunman was indeed working alone? >> well they believe that the gunman was working alone when it comes to perpetrating those two attacks on saturday and late in the early hours of sunday morning, but what they're concerned about is that he may have an accomplice or accomplices who were aware of what he was going to do. the police are trying to build up a bigger picture and profile of who he was connected with. they said that they feel that he may have been inspired by those attacks in paris and by radical islamist propaganda so they're trying to build a bigger profile on him beyond what they know already, that he has connections with gangs in the past and criminal activity and owning weapons. they're trying to build a bigger picture and they're not saying precisely who these men w

nick spicers joins us from outside the police headquarters in copenhagen. what more do we know about the gunmen right now? >> a point nearby to those incidents. >> not much more than we just is in that report a 22-year-old dane born and raised in denmark with a violent past, gang membership, weapons position. there is a name throughoutfloating out there in cyberspace. the danish media thinks it has put its hands on the actual identity of the man bindehind the killings. we have called police repeatedly. they are not confirming the real points are his age, his violent past weapons possession. these are things that the police have confirmed. the head of the danish intelligence saying that he has not gone abroad for any kind of foreign training but that he was on their radar screen in the security services. >> one can imagine a sense of relief across denmark at the moment that the police appear to have got their man. is it fair to say, though that danes have been expecting some sort of an attack like this for years? >> they have been expecting an attack of this

a second shooting took place outside a copenhagen synagogue. a man providing security for the synagogue was killed and others were wounded. two people were arrested at an internet cafe and we're still awaiting worth on whether they might be related to the case. that cafe is a few hundred yards from where police killed the suspected gunman earlier today during a shoot-out. police say surveillance video helped lead them to the 22-year-old man who has a criminal record. -- a u.s. official tell ss cnn the fbi is now assisting with the investigation. investigation. >> there is a good reason to believe this is for related and we're treating it as if it is terror. our nic robertson is in copenhagen and nick pike what can you tell us about the arrests made today? >> what the police are saying at the moment is that two people were arrested at an internet cafe, this was part of a wider organization that's been going on and involves a neighborhood where the police were actually going into several apartments in that neighborhood before making these arrests
