the authorities in denmark, they knew that there was a threat against denmark and they had did a lot of preparedness towards that. still, it happened. it's the first terror attack of this kind in denmark. and i think, of course, everybody is in shock. i think now we will have a discussion about the perpetrator because here in denmark we discussed the threat from foreign fighters. but he was a guy grown up in denmark and have not been a foreign fighter. and with a, you know a criminal background. so i think that would be one issue. the other issue would be was the threat assessment before the meeting here outside this house. was the threat assessment good enough or should they have put more guards around it. >> and what do you expect moving forward? obviously the french have become much for aggressive since the january 7th attacks. do you expect a change in policy in deposit marknmark or do you expect more of the same? i think lars is having a problem with the transmission and also with the wind. we are going to move on and thank hum for being with us. when it comes to wind i feel his

in denmark, it was a synagogue last night. let's go straight to nic robertson who joins us from copenhagen. what do we know from police about these two other arrests at a nearby cafe. i know those just happened today, i'm wondering if they believe they were all instrumental in this or if they still believe that the gunman was indeed working alone? >> well they believe that the gunman was working alone when it comes to perpetrating those two attacks on saturday and late in the early hours of sunday morning, but what they're concerned about is that he may have an accomplice or accomplices who were aware of what he was going to do. the police are trying to build up a bigger picture and profile of who he was connected with. they said that they feel that he may have been inspired by those attacks in paris and by radical islamist propaganda so they're trying to build a bigger profile on him beyond what they know already, that he has connections with gangs in the past and criminal activity and owning weapons. they're trying to build

this is a very peaceful neighborhood in denmark. it's a high-income area i'm standing in here in copenhagen. people are not expecting that someone would just go out and shoot someone on a saturday afternoon, so they were shocked. they were also very much expecting this to happen at some point. >> what more are you learning about the lead up to this attack? what details do you have on that? >> reporter: we have quite a few details coming in late last night and also this morning on the alleged shooter the 22-year-old male born here in denmark. one of the interesting details that came out very late last senate how he approached -- last night is how he approached the second shooting, the one at the jewish center at the synagogue. a spokesperson for the jewish community has said to several media that the alleged shooter appeared to be drunk. he was faking to be drunk, and he walked up to the center and actually vomited just next to the security guard. then he stood up and shot him in the head and then shot at the two police officers. and

there's a different attitude toward all this in denmark from what there was back then? >> absolutely, this week a poll was published in one of the big danish newspapers. back in 2006, 49% of the danish population said it was the wrong thing to publish those cartoons and 33% said yes. today 65% says it was the right thing to do, and only 17% say it was the wrong thing to do. so you've seen a sea change in the attitude to the publications. the cartoons after what happened in paris. >> you also wrote back then, “one cartoon depicting the prophet with a bomb in his turban has drawn the harshest criticism. angry voices claim the cartoon is saying that the prophet is a terrorist, or that every muslim is a terrorist.” but then you said that wasn't at all your intent. you said, “some individuals have taken the religion of islam hostage by committing terrorist acts in the name of the prophet. they are the ones who have given the religion a bad name. the cartoon also plays into the fairy tale about aladdin and the orange that fell under his turban and made his fortune. this
