carson was married to reeves mccullers. soldier stationed at fort benning that she met when she went here. they had a very tumultuous relationship. tragedyately ended in when reeves committed suicide. there is a lot of emotional misunderstanding and infidelity on both sides throughout their relationship. there was also a real love their and something that connected them with their love of literature and writing. so, these are two books that reeves gave her. in particular, this one you see here says "christmas 1936 -- two o carson, these books and my deepest affection, reeves." even though the relationship was not smooth, we still have these reminders of what true them together and kept them together and why this relationship was so significant in carson's life. one of my favorite pieces related to carson is this collage portrait by the artist scott eagle. it is an imagining of one of her she had became a little famous. here in front we have carson. working on her autobiography, which was ultimately unfinished. you see her p

he said, carson is a nice guy. he said he's not going to attack carson. now that they are tied, do you think trump should change his tune? >> well, this is one poll. there's another that -- where he is ahead 23 to 18 over dr. carson. they are tied in this one. i have one that came in where he is ahead. i think he's still doing perfectly fine. ben's point and the point in the polls are absolutely correct here. people are absolutely -- no matter which poll you look at, they're absolutely furious at the republican establishment. 75% in one poll are just -- have had it with the republican leadership in congress. 66% don't want another politician. i mean, whether it's donald trump or ben carson or ted cruz or carly fiorina, when you add them together, you get 65% of the republican electoral that says, no. i think there's a real story here on this. >> i know josh is biting at the bit to jump in here. i want to hear what josh's take is on this. josh? what does the establishment need to do? >> i think the basic premise here is that we're overreading this a lot. s

carson. there seems to be confusion on the issue of abortion and exceptions in the case of rape and incest. you said recently that if somebody is a victim of that kind of an attack, they can go to an emergency room and get the pill but there are right to life groups that say that's a chemical abortion pill. where are you on exceptions in the case of abortion? yes or no? >> well, i think that when conception occurs, life occurs. and i do believe in contraception. at an appropriate time you have to know what the cycle is. the egg is only fertilizable at certain periods of time. there are certain types of drugs that can prevent ovulation. if someone was raped and they tr are administered that drug, it prevents an egg from coming down. if ovulation doesn't occurring, there won't be conception. >> we have a minute left. we'll dig into the hillary clinton e-mail scandal later in this program. i want to ask you whether, one, you think she's broken the law and, two, by her actions with private e-mail

ben carson the most likeable coming out of this. p the least likeable person in this whole race is, well, take a look, donald trump. negative 37 on least likeable. his net is also way negative as well. my question for you, doug, is it more important at this point, six months before iowa to look at the top numbers in the poll, who's leading, who's not? is it more important to delve into the data and look at likability and figure out that trump has a huge underwater spread? >> that's a great question. john and i were talking about this in the greenroom. voters are shopping around for candidates. four years ago herman cain was probably leading the republican field. right now there's a real hunger and appetite for what donald trump is saying and he's really tapping into some emotions that are in the republican party and also outside of the republican party. i think you kind of have to look at a number of things. i think for donald trump if you're looking at these numbers, the top three folks leading your poll are all considered outsider
