let's go over to katherine scott outside of south detectives, katherine you imagine police standing there watching this. >> reporter: yeah, well they were trying to get the suspect, of course so far he is on the loose, police did find and identification card a prison inmate identification card in that vehicle, so police believe they know who they are looking for. all four victims were taken to south detectives to be interviewed. let's go to the video of the scene on camack street in south philadelphia where the suspect's mustang crashed into two parked vehicles. it happened at 12:30, that's when it all started. police pulled over a black mustang that was running stop signs and driving erratically. initially the mustang stopped. as the police approached the driver sped off. the mustang went several blocks before crashing into two parked cars, the officers witnessed the crash. the driver ran out and got in the to the nearest car he saw, that was a nissan. there were four people inside, he committed a carjacking in front of the police, the front-seat passenger got out to help the driver, the

katherine scott is live with the details. katherine. >> reporter: matt, the shooter is a woman her late teens early 20s, the victim is an 18-year-old man. the detectives at the homicide division are investigating the case as they continue to look for the shooter. this happened around midnight in north philadelphia. the shots rang out on 1900 block of crosskey street. when police found they 18-year-old man he was already inside the home after his family members carried him inside. he was shot twice once in the chest, once in the abdomin. he was rushed to the hospital, he was unconscious and underwent surgery and pronounced dead after 2:00 a.m. after he was shot, family members carried him in the home. circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. >> the shooter female and other females on the block were involved in an earlier dispute altercation and fight. and then, after that, this female returned with other females and that's when the shooting occurred. >> reporter: and police did locate some private sur

katherine scott is live on the scene in upper moreland township, katherine. >> reporter: matt what led up to the crash remains under investigation, but we know a driver was trapped in his vehicle for about an hour after electrical wires fell on top of it. it happened over there. cruise are at work near the accident site. you can hear first responders yelling at him to stay in the car so he wouldn't get electrocuted. let's go to the video. >> do not get out of your car. >> reporter: this happened around 2:30 at the wellington apartment complex offshore sham road in upper moreland township. the driver lost control of the car and hit a utility pole wires fell down on top of the car and caught fire. rescue was called out, peco was called out to shut off power. that took an hour, the driver was taken to abington hospital. he had various injuries, but was conscious. police are not sure why he lost control of the vehicle. peco remains at the scene doing work along the wires, they had been here for a little while now and there's still a little work left to go, we're live in upper moreland town

let's go over to katherine scott at police headquarters with the details. >> reporter: yesterday there were two police involved shootings in philadelphia in the latest one, four officers opened fire, but nobody was hit in both of these shootings no officers were injured. >> it was actually a running gun battle. >> reporter: bullets flew in germantown as police say they were for the purposessed to fire on a man -- forced to fire on a man who turned his gun on officers. police were called out for report of a mantua gun. police told the 20-year-old suspect to drop his weapon but he refused and started to runaway. >> while running he turned around and fired shots toward the police. >> reporter: police returned fire. the suspect continue to fire shots at officers as they chased him. they apprehended the suspect in a back driveway. police say he was carrying a gun. >> the weapon that was recovered from him, was a semi automatic weapon with the slide locked back is to the rear which was an indication that the weapon was fired until it was empty. in close proximity a second automatic weapon wa

katherine scott is live in southwest philadelphia with the details. good morning. >> reporter: tam, that's right, a 58-year-old philadelphia man remains in police custody. he has not been charged yet. police believe that man was under the influence when he hit an off-duty police officer who was on his motorcycle and fled the scene. >> fortunately we had a couple of witnesses one being a tow truck driver who followed the vehicle helped out big time and for meed the car and blocked the car in and called the police and police got there and arrested him for leaving the scene of the accident. >> witnesses helped track down a driver who fled after hitting a police officer on his motorcycle. lamar poole was assigned to the 12th district. he was a husband and father. >> lamar poole is survived by his wife and seven kids. >> reporter: the accident happened at residential and deavereau. after the crash, police say the other driver got 0 out of his car to see what happened and took off. a tow truck driver followed the toyota and called police. the 58-year-old dr

katherine scott live for us now from police headquarters. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. that's right, there are multiple shootings last night and one of them in point breeze one man was shot, two -- several cars were hit and a home was hit as well and police are investigating all of these shootings. a back car window shot out. a gas meter hit. a bullet pierced the front window of a home. 45 shell casings were strewn across the 2000 block of dickinson street in point breeze just blocks from where more gunfire erupted early yesterday morning. last night just after 11:30 a barrage of gunfire. one man was shot in the leg. three vehicles were hit including this nissan maxima. pgw was called. firefighters were forced to shut off gas to the home where the meter was struck. several shell casings were also found on nearby wood stock street. evidence indicates the bullets were fired by more than one person. and so far no arrests have been made. call police if you have any tips. we're live at police headquarters, katherine sc

thank you matt. >>> let's switch live to "action news" reporter katherine scott. she's getting a closer look at that mess out there on the schuylkill. katherine, how is it looking right now? >> reporter: well, we have seen a lot of progress. obviously we've seen a lot of messes on the schuylkill expressway this morning but where we are by the south street bridge you can see that traffic is now moving. they were able to clear that tractor-trailer that was closing the westbound lanes earlier this morning. so, all the traffic now getting by in the westbound lanes. but around 4 a.m. a tractor-trailer jackknifed. the 55-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with shoulder and leg injuries. all westbound lanes were closed and traffic here was an absolute mess. but the tractor-trailer has now been towed and traffic is moving again. then while all that was going on, there was a backup in the eastbound lanes under 30th street. a car had spun out there, traffic was snarled. we know there was street flooding in that area so you do want to keep an eye out for that when you

let's go on over to "action news" reporter katherine scott. she's live at the scene in the 700 block of townsend place. katherine, what's the latest? >> reporter: well, tam, that's right, police are trying to figure out what exactly happened here but we do know a 10-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital in serious condition after being shot here this morning and you can see police remain on the scene here in wilmington gathering evidence. the crime scene unit is on the scene. they're waiting for a search warrant to get inside the home. this happened just before 2:00 a.m. on the 700 block of townsend place. when police arrived they found the child with a gunshot wound his head. he was rushed to ai dupont hospital in serious condition. police didn't immediately recover a weapon but again they are waiting on search warrant. they also have not made any arrests in this case. what exactly happened here remains under investigation but of course we'll bring you updates as we get them. we are live in wilmington, katherine scott, channel6 "action news

we're live in wynnefield, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." matt. >> thank you, katherine. >>> a bucks county neighborhood is in shock after a domestic dispute led to a fatal stabbing between a father and son. police were called to the 500 block of trappe lane in langhorne yesterday evening. they found a 66-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. authorities say it happened after a heated argument between the man and his 27-year-old son. the older man was rushed to saint mary medical center where he later died. word of the tragedy quickly spread through the neighborhood. >> oh, my god, this is shocking. unbelievable. this neighborhood is generally quiet. we've been here 30 years and never seen anything like this before in my life. >> the son is in police custody. >> local officials in concorde township gave a thumbs up to letting a chadds ford wawa sell beer but there are more steps that have to happen before you see that brew in the refrigerated case. annie mccormick has more. >> reporter: this wawa is the only one with approval and changes

we're live in camden, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." matt. >> thanks, katherine. >>> new this morning a fast moving fire trapped people inside a camden home. it happened on the 1200 block of thurmond street at midnight. flames spread to the upstairs trapping those inside but everyone was able to get out without serious injuries. fire also damaged a neighboring home. firefighters brought it under control in about a half hour. >> we were first to tell you about a 10-year-old boy shot in the head in wilmington. his condition is improving and there's been an arrest. yesterday police raided a home near the site of the shooting on the 700 block of townsend place. police have taken a man into custody in connection with this shooting. 24-year-old jalil goldsboro has been charged but so far police have not determined whether or not the shooting was accidental. the community held a vigil last night for the little boy as they tried to come to terms with the shooting. >> we must stand together to stamp out this violence and shootings and murder tha

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live at the scene at tulip and huntingdon streets. how are things going, katherine? >> reporter: well, they're still at work here, matt. this is a massive sinkhole and, you know, i don't know how you get to work in the morning, everybody, but if you take this route, you want to take a different one this morning because there's a lot of work to do here. if you take a look here at huntingdon and tulip you can see there's a big hole in the street. it opened yesterday afternoon here in kensington and crews from the philadelphia gas works and the water department have been on the scene. the fire department was called around 3 o'clock for a water main break at tulip and huntingdon. that's when they discovered the sinkhole and it kept getting bigger. pgw is here because they have a gas line that's beneath the road. pgw says their service had not been disrupted. crews have been working to get this fixed but we don't know when these repairs will be finished. obviously traffic can't get through this intersection so you do want to take a differe

let's go over to "action news" reporter katherine scott. she is live on the scene near king of prussia and katherine the last time we checked in with you we could see flames behind you. how do things look now? >> reporter: well, that's right, tam, and we do have an update for you. just in the last couple of minutes peco was able to turn off the gas so firefighters are now on their way in to start extinguishing the last of those flames. you can see it's smoky where within the last 10 minutes you had seen flames coming out of there in that gas-fueled fire after that gas main ruptured this morning and it was fueling the blaze. so, speak company did locate the source and the gas has now been shut off so they're working on that. but let's go to video shot by a viewer this morning of the fire. it broke out just before 1:30 this morning on the 300 block of bill smith boulevard at the abrams run apartments in king of prussia. 16 units were damaged. half of them were completely destroyed. the flames were just raging. the woman in the apartment where
