governor pataki joins us right now. governor, good to have you on the program. welcome. >> good morning, maria. nice being on with you. >> congratulations to you. fresh off of your debate on thursday. what was your take away from the debate? >> thank you. first, i'm very pleased that for the first time the american people got to hear from me and the reaction i've gotten was very good. i think all in all most of the candidates did very well, but i kept asking myself, how are they going to get it done. you started out, maria, i got it done in a blue state. i got it done with a two to one democratic house and it seems to me regardless of who controls congress, nothing seems to change. i can change things in washington, and that's what the american people want. >> so let's talk about what needs to be changed and the real important issues to american voters today. jobs, the economy front and center, race. when you look at the economy and race, these are the two issues that are resonating across the country as well as, of course, foreign policy. what are your solution

and you could safely say that george pataki and my friend jim gilmore are at the bottom. but pretty much everybody in the middle, almost everybody in the middle overlaps. to say there's some meaningful statistical difference between john kasich and rec perry is nonsense. because they really do have the same amount of support it is radically biassing to the republican presidential primary process to say john kasich gets into the debate and rick perry doesn't when there is no statistical justification for making that kind of distinction between them. so the pollsters are not only pointing that out, they're basically in revolt. the candidates have moved beyond complaining to the press to making formal federal complaints. fox is still not saying who is even before considered for one of their events and not saying how they're deciding who will be in the actual debate. and it's this week. we'll have more on the pollster's revolt later on in the show. suffice to say, though, fox still has a chance to make the very easy switch here that basically every unbiased observer, and lots

kennedy: he gets 116 minutes, george pataki got 61 seconds. and then, senators, as i refer to them, cruz, paul, rubio about 16 minutes apiece. it is difficult for them to compete, how is trump going to change the game at the debate? >> my gosh, a lot of tweets, thanks to him, what he said, it is really going to be great. people like christie and others said, i'm not going to bring him up we're not going to focus on him, we have to focus on issues. kennedy: do you believe that. >> it is like high school, you answer the question with a jab on your onuoha -- your opponent without reverends them reverendl hear i love your war heroes. kennedy: how does donald trump make you feel? >> inside, outside in the middle. >> safe, and happy -- no. kennedy: you are a libertarian, a limited government guy, what does donald trump and his actual policies, what does to that say to you. >> not much, he has not said anything to me about market or small government, he wants to cut down on illegal immigration and make better deals and somehow mexico is going to pay
