the single largest in philadelphia history. it means people who were in jail on serious drug charges, they were convicted, they are now going to be able to go free. others who were on probation will no longer be on probation. you may remember this case. there were six narcotics police officers who went to trial on corruption charges and they were acquitted of all of those charges earlier this year. still, the evidence uncovered in that investigation is still admissible evidence in other cases. i just spoke with a public defender who had filed 1400 petitions last year asking for new trials in those cases involving the police officers who were largeter charged, then found not guilty. today, it was agreed 158 of those convictions should be tossed. >> prosecutor's office to their credit has stood by what they said before which is there was sufficient doubts involving these officers that render questions about the fairness of their convictions and the right thing to do in the interest of justice is to reopen the cases and they did.
