eyewitness news reporter toni yates is live in flatbush. good morning, toni. >> reporter: good morning again. this is a sad, sad accident for that child's family and this neighborhood who loved this little girl, who was an avid sports fan and who one day dreamed of becoming a professional athlete herself. she is being remembered by two candlelight vigils on east 22nd street where she played with her friends and where her life tragically ended. 8-year-old jayden williams was bubbly. nypd investigators say yesterday just after 5:00 in the afternoon williams was playing behind a double parked delivery truck. as she went out in the street an s.u.v. was driving around the truck and struck the little girl. trained experts in cpr tried to save her. the driver of the s.u.v., reginald august stopped at the scene. police say right after the accident, though, he was punched by a man that knew little williams. ryan roman is facing assault charges. meanwhile, williams family and friends are coping with this unbelievable loss. >> she was playing ball wit

new jersey reporter toni yates with the dramatic scene of events. >> reporter: good morning. the essex prosecutor's office entered the investigation. the pursuit by the two police officers and their cruisers ended up with innocent bystanders getting hurt. in fact, the 79-year-old woman was walking on this sidewalk when the car the fence. but it hit her before it actually hit the fence. we have some police scanner audio of the call. >> he cracked up, he cracked up, he cracked up. >> meaning that the car crashed. now, there is still images of the aftermath as investigators arrived on the scene at clifton near branch park. 11:47 yesterday morning two newark police cruisers were pursuing that gold nissan driven by a 20-year-old man when he crashed hitting the 79- year-old woman. his car hit another car injuring the two people inside that one. they were slightly injured. the 79-year-old woman suffered more serious injuries and is being cared for at university hospital. we spoke to some of her neighbors. >> she was an older woman with a slight walking problem, limped a little. she

toni yates, channel 7, eyewitness news. >> thank you. >>> we are going to turn to the disturbing charges against jared fogle. the pitchman for subway will plead guilty to charges of having sex with minors and child pornography. he's best known for dropping 200 pounds on subway. he will spend 12 to 5.5 years behind bars. darla miles is live. darla. >> reporter: that's right . fogle is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old girl here at this ritz carlton in battery park. he's accused of having sex with the exact same girl at the plaza hotel in midtown. all of these victims prosecutors say in some cases some of didn't realize he was a celebrity. >> jared also knows he has a medical problem. he's already sought evaluation by a world class psychiatrist experienced in these matters and he will seek appropriate treatment. >> an attorney for jared fogle calls it an illness. prosecutors say the word to use is criminal. jared fogle, best known for losing more than 200 pounds eating subway sandwiches and then becoming their spokesperson is now charged with one count of receiving child pornography
