tv-9's forrest saunders is live at city hall this morning. forrest, they've been out there since yesterday? yes. these guys have been protesting since yesterday evening out in front of city hall. there numbers were up around 18 but have since dwindled to 4. this all started on monday. officers told a group of homeless people they had to take down tents and vacate a piece of city property near osborn park. officers said they gave them about three days to pack up and leave because they were breaking the law. the homeless group was frustrated by the removal. they took their issues to the center of town - starting this protest at city hall. one member of the group says he hopes to get a chance to talk with the mayor: " i hope so, i hope he does invite me in his office and ask him questions and we'll work together. last night, the sioux city school board approved a land donation to the city of sioux city. if you look a little to the west of lincoln elementary, you'll see dearborn bridge. oux city community schools own a portion of land leading up to that bridge. the school board decided to donate that piece of land to the city so that they can reconstruct the bridge.
