in waterloo, brea love, kcrg-tv nine news. more students are going to school in the cedar rapids district this academic year. the school district says its enrollment stands at 16- thousand 267 students. that includes kindergarten through 12th grade classes in all of the district's schools and educational centers. that's up from last year's enrollment of 16- thousand 157. the district has been steadily increasing after several years of decline following the 2008 flood. enrollment's also up in the iowa city school district. this year, the district has more than 13- thousand-200 students... up about 300 from last year. but enrollment in dubuque and waterloo dropped this year. dubuque schools have about 10- thousand 600 students... down about 50. and waterloo schools are down nearly 200 students this year, with about 10- thousand 300 enrolled. a longtime fixture of downtown anamosa is closing its doors after 50 years in business. family foods says it's closing within the next few weeks. a general manager with the store says compet

waterloo has banned burning brush, leaves and other yard waste for 13 years. and the council traditionally denies these requests from businesses. after waterloo water works found an elevated amount of nitrate in one of its water wells last week, officials are searching for answers. the maximum level of nitrate for one water source is 10 milligrams per liter, friday the water was sitting at 10-point-7. waterloo water works immediately shut off the well and advised residents and warned that the old water wasn't safe for babies. "once that well was off, all the other water being produced by the system was being substantially below 10.7, so it very quickly blended with that water. typically we're all drinking blended water anyway from a number of different sources." tonight at 10 waterloo water works tells us where it believes the nitrate was from, and what it plans to do moving forward. unity point is opening a new family medicine facility on the west side of cedar rapids. its services will include x-ray, outpatient physical and occupational therapy, and lab serv
