as you can see, this area of rain in northeast georgia is in general pushing towards the northeast with time. heaviest action right now is over the northern part of up the state, northern spartanburg county, northern section of cherokee county, where you see the areas of red and yellow, that's where we've got the heaviest action now. so heavy rain up 26 towards boiling spring, fingerville, rutherford county and along i-85, really tough drive with pockets of heavy rain through cherokee county. union county, that is on the light side. greenville county, we have pocket of heavy showers, i-85, mauldin, rain is on the increase there. downtown greenville had light rain, lit be getting heavier for and farther tore the west into pickens county, we've already had heavy rain and more has redeveloped over 178 from pickens and easley, a rainy drive for a lot of folks. lighter showers into oconee county, more rainfalling to the west. and that will continue to increase. into western north carolina, overall, the rain is lighter. we do have a few pockets of heavier action, in polk county. north of brys

georgia. you will continue to find flurries moving in from the west. into greenville and spartanburg, a little quieter not many. snow showers are confined in north carolina towards the tennessee line. a big dip in the jet stream will stay put for the next couple days. that's going to keep our temperatures cold and disturbances coming from the northwest will continue to keep the snow showers in`the forecast for the mountains. for the up state tomorrow, much less of a chance of that because we are going to get rid of most of the cloud cover. the mountains will have the still a bitterly cold start to the day area wide. the winds will be blowing. some wind chills in the mountains will be close to zero and higher elevations, minus five to minus 15, so a wind chill advisory is in effect for elevations above 3500 feet. less winds and sunshine tomorrow, still cold in the afternoon. a colder start into thursdayay because winds will be lighter with mostly clear skies and temperatures are going to try to

., we'll start to see some thunderstorms on the increase from northeast georgia. that's going to continue to increase across the area. 7:00 a.m., it's probably the best window if you had to nare rote down of severe thunderstorms that could form across western north carolina and also for the upstate, but they will be on the move because by 9:00 a.m. out. as we get into midday that front that's helping to drive all this will be off to our east. will be. we may still hod on to shower chances but the trend will be for us to dry out across the upstatement cold weather arrives for the mountains with higher elevation snow showers for early thursday. and overall cool temperatures and sunshine for the upstate. as far as the severe weather risk goes from the storm prediction center we have isolated severe thunderstorms off to our east, thanks to that energy. so for the next 24 hours the main threats will be severe thunderstorms going into tomorrow morning, flash flooding, high winds. morning storms are likely. some of those could be severe. otherwise breezy and drying out.
