nbc10's katy zachry is live this morning on campus. she's been there since 4:00 a.m. the bookstore doesn't open until 8:00. it's like pulling an all-nighter, remember to? >> reporter: i never pulled an all-nighter, vai, i don't know what you're talking about. but being on campus reminds you of being in college. really, you can sense some of the excitement we're seeing a bunch of students out. some of them are doing early morning runs. they're here at the athletic center behind me. this is the pavilion where the wildcats play their regular games. inside you can see a great mural of their 1985 celebratory ncaa run where they won the entire tournament. now, that is exactly what fans on and off campus are hoping for this year. this is the first day the campus bookstore will sell official villanova final four gear. the first shipment comes in today. the bookstore opens in just about two hours from now. employees tell us they're expecting long lines today of hungry fans who want that official gear. and they're going to be making their way to the campus bookstore pretty soon

nbc 10's katy zachry is live for us on the scene. katy, this fire spread to a nearby building, is that right? >> it did, vai. normally we don't talk about how many firefighters it took to put out a fire but in this case it's unique. it's a lot. nearly 100 firefighters from throughout delaware county were called out to this scene you're looking at right now. this is the building that caught on fire after about 15 vehicles initially caught fire. you can see the burn marks on the side of it. here's a look at the fire at the height of it from skyforce 10. our ground crews were not allowed to get close during the height of it for safety reasons. we launched skyforce 10. an auto body facility made up of a warehouse and car lot went up in flames in colwyn borough. people live all around this property and we were worried for their safety because of the overwhelming fumes. turns out, firefighters were worried, too. >> hazmat was called because there was a cloud in the area and if was unknown who was burning in the building. hazmat did declare

nbc 10's katy zachry just got live on scene. she's getting new information for us. katy, what do you know? >> tracy, we're along edgemont in chester. this is the grape leaf diner, formerly the sunrise diner. it's adjacent to thisç day's i. not long ago, a fire broke out at this diner and the fire and threatening smoke forced the evacuation of the adjacent day's inn. i've been told by the guests staying at the day's inn, they were told to leave their rooms but they can stay in the lobby and overhang here. the firefighters are more in a relaxed mode than they were at the height of the firefighting. they're still attracting hot spots but it is a much better scene than it was earlier when this fire broke out. they do seem to have it under control. i talked with paramedics on scene and there have been no injuries reported. that's the good news, considering all of the people you have as a part of this with the adjacent hotel. we have another crew getting information from the fire chief and people who were forced to evacuate from their hotel rooms. i'll have that coming
