michael clark was talking with officers when they got that emergency call and joins us live from the scene. michael? >> yeah, brigida i am on the area where the shooting took place one of the victims died after the car was shot into. look behind me he was riding in the backseat of this seat and shot in the leg and is at the hospital. look at video. i watched police as they raced from the station to respond to another shooting this afternoon. it was reported near east black street in keels. witnesses told police they heard shots and saw a dark-colored vehicle and a man running from the scene. later, police got another call about two people shot in a dark colored car here not far from the first location. it's believed the victims drove here after being shot. police are talking to someone inside the car but unharmed hours after three different homes were shot into in rock hill last night. three people have minor injuries. police have not said if they believe the shootings are related to the ones today. we talked to a woman inside of she she heard glass shattering. we will hear from her

michael clark is live in lancaster county tonight. was there a history of abuse in the couple's marriage? >> well, the sheriff says that he has had calls out to that address but never arrests were made. in court we learned that the family members testified she was planning on leaving her husband until she was found stabbed to death in the home in 2013. >> with cancer roddy has tried to help his daughter elaine but he was helpless when family members saw her stabbed to death in her bed with her husband john. >> jurors listened to a voice mail that john left on his time his wife died. family members testified elaine had been trying to find another place to stay but came back. her sister seemed to be turning a corner after surviving a car crash. >> she lost weight and colored her hair. and started acting like she was happy for a first-time in a longtime. >> this is video from the house the couple shared with jonathan and his family and one of the grandchildren slept with her grandparents but not on the night of the murder. >> my father s

wbtv's michael clark joining us live from campus. they did not just talk about the concerns they convinced university leaders to add safety features? >> yeah absolutely. if you can see this is one of the emergency call boxes that will be put up outside where that 18-year-old was robbed. student asked for in a on line petition drive that collected 900 signatures. leaders say the armed robbery and student response were major factors in making the decision: the president met with the organizer of the petition drive to let them know their voices have been heard. hall and all female dorm here and that is where a young woman was robbed and another person was sexually assaulted here a couple years ago. students comranned that the nearest 9-1-1 box was too far away and that area is secluded and poorly lit at night. and leaders are reassuring students that they are making changes with the addition of the call boxes. officials hope to start installing these and at 5:30 we will hear from students relieved to know their voices were heard. report

michael clark wbtv on your side. >> new information now on the charlotte attorney accused of sleeping during a trial. according to the state bar association nick mackey's status has changed from active. he is the attorney who had a racketeering case tossed out because he kept nodding off during trial. the suspect was serving a 30-year prison sentence. mackey's status has been changed because the lawyer is in a wind-down period. we called the state to get information and the status change happened because mackey did not fulfill his continuing education requirement. he has 30 days to wrap up the court cases and cannot accept new ones. >>> police know how darrell hunt died they believe he shot himself. hunt made national news after he was wrongfully convicted in the 80s. hunt stage four cancer and spent conviction was overturned. >>> we are learning of plans for a candlelight vigil for this couple. the killer shot mark wilson and home. they had a 10-year-old daughter. today we learned the family will hold a vigil. it will be at south side park in newton. it starts at 7:00 p.m. >> record-

michael clark spoke with the student's mother who believes the sentence is not harsh enough. >> and a gaston county courtroom an emotional plea in a deadly dwi crash. 23-year-old britney reddiker was sentenced in a wreck that killed her girlfriend. maureen o'boyle joins us live with more on what happened in court today. >> and as you mentioned it was very emotional when reddiker addressed the court before the judge sentenced her to 18 months for that crash. it happened in june of last year. we learned today reddiker and the victim, kaylee were together for five years. reddiker apologized to falls' family saying she lost the love harder than losing her and her family whom reddiker says she would have done anything for. >> i'm so sorry that we are all sitting here right now and there is nothing that i would not do to trade places with her. or anything that i could give too, i would take her place in a heart beat if i could. >> reddiker went on to tell the family they will always be family to her. and she will always love them. reddiker will serve five years probation after her release.
