check out these temperatures, mostly in the 40s, but monticello at 34 degrees. we've got temperatures on the chilly side, but with the 37 as i mentioned is the wind gust in central park. we're talking 28-mile-an-hour gusts for edison and babylon. 40-mile-an-hour wind gusts now in white plains and also in greenwich. so, just remember, you're walking around, the wind is, you know, 15 to 20 miles an hour, let's say, but out of nowhere, you will catch one of the wind gusts, so just be mindful. we have advisories in effect for most of the tri-state area until noon today. and ulster and dutchess county, they're in effect until 6:00 p.m. the vortex satellite and radar shows the high pressure moving in. no precipitation to talk about, so, a nice, dry day for us. we will also see tons of sunshine as the area of high pressure gets closer, but it is the difference between this area of high pressure moving in and the low pressure that is departing that's giving us -- churning up the winds. so, we've got the cool, gusty conditions today. kind of more like cold in the morning

it's jefferson life in monticello? spam that jefferson's burial places in monticello. interesting piece about that is monticello, the property is run by a nonprofit foundation except for the family burial ground, which is controlled a descendent of jefferson's descendents. the reason that matters is because there are a group of people who say we are descendents of thomas jefferson by way of sally hemming, one of the enslaved peoples of the debt the plantation. they are not officially recognized by the family even though they are officially recognized by monticello. so you have a disagreement at the property about two as part of the jefferson family. because the official jefferson family still does not recognize the hemming's descendents, they are eligible to be buried in the family plot. every so often you hear them after to bring that group into the fold so to speak. just one more example of how the issues, appeared something that happened hundreds and hundreds of years ago. great question. monticello poor folks you're now. what will it feel like in the door? degrees. be did new york city think they are going to be in the going to be some wind out there tomorrow morning. not tomorrow afternoon. but 10 to 20 around the city and for the bulk of the area in this darker pink color, light pink north and west of the city you could be feeling like the single digits. right now clear skies but clouds coming in, couple of snow flurries in the northern fringe of ulster county. that's not the snow that i'm watching. the snow i'm watching goes out into the midwest around north dakota. this low pressure system, this is going to be combining with this flow coming in from the gulf of mexico. and they are going to be good sized as a system. it will be south of our area and east of our area so we're going to get clipped by it. it's not going to give us too much. they become one system and they are setting up offshore. we get clipped with a little snow but you can clearly see the focus of that storm is down to our south and by the time you get to the latter afternoon
