steve: thanks, liz. also developing at 5:00, a tsunami advisory has been lifted in southern japan after the island nation was rocked by a second strong earthquake in a little more than 24 hours. dari: lidia curanaj joining us from the newsroom with the latest on the rescue and recovery. >> reporter: not only was the area hit with an earthquake 24 hours ago, but they also suffered through more than 100 aftershocks in the interim. today's quake struck eight miles south of where thursday's quake hit. this latest quake was extremely powerful, with a preliminary magnitude of 7.1. the quake shook the region at 1:25 saturday. several aftershocks followed, some as strong as 5.3 magnitude. japanese media is showing collapsed streets, crumbling buildings and homes. the number of dead is unknown. there are many reports of people being trapped inside their homes because the earthquake was it's technically a foreshock. dramatic video has surfaced showing an eight-month-old baby being pulled from the rubble of a colla
