bernie sanders has not won one. one thing that does have a close primary, it means it is an older electric. hillary does better with older voters than younger voters. there is been an influx in new registrations into the democratic party in the last few months and there is a possibility that young voters will be more present in this election. however, they also said this, they ran a different model of the same poll allowing much larger turn out for young voters and alolowing newly registered democrats, they had hillary clinton winning the state by seven points. it is only one poll. think of the connecticut primary. connecticut was the state that barack obama won the primary in 2000 in 2016 hillary clinton turned it around by ten points and won it. if she does win oregon tonight there is a bit of a precedent maybe for it. >> fascinating. >> that means this next half an hour, steve is going to be important in politics. chris jansing told us tonight of the sanders campaign describing it narrow path. there is no way the

bernie sanders taking oregon. the headline is all about bernie sanders defiant statement last night in the question of whether the democratic party will be able to unite for the general election. just moments ago on this show we heard from jeff weaver, the sanders campaign manager. he struck a more conciliatory tone stressing that the dispute between the democratic party and sanders campaign was more personal between democratic national chair debbie wasserman schultz and their campaign and state of nevada. and the sanders campaign stressing that bernie sanders would be behind hillary clinton and opposed to donald trump in the general election. donald trump this morning all over twitter trying to coax bernie sanders supporters to his side saying the democratic process rigged against sanders saying sanders voters basically should give him a look. let's talk about what we heard from bernie sanders and what we heard from the two campaigns with our panel. we have with us jeff greenfield, contributor with politico. jeff

they run the risk if bernie gets bullied out of this before california, that the bernie voters stay home and that's not going to be good for the democratic ticket in november. >> how do you see this playing out? bernie sanders still has an uphill battle with the delegate count. do you think he will stay in until the end? >> yes. most definitely he will stay in until the end. the exit polls have shown that the democratic party is energized and they are actually -- they think he made the right decision in staying in the race. it doesn't -- the contested convention does not have to be bitter. it could go through a process where it's not. historically, contested conventions have made the nominee a lot stronger and has done -- for both sides of the party. i think there's something there. i think if hillary clinton is the nominee takes in and takes on the issues -- the important issues that bernie sanders has put forth with $15 minimum wage, trade policies, breaking big banks and really takes that on into the democratic platform, that could be the key there. that will be the key there. th
