let's start with one of the biggest new phenomenon we are seeing in california this year, new borders. what do you think are these new voters mean for senator sanders and hugh big of a deal is this? >> it is really hard to know because when you see a giant number of young people registering for example and los angeles county alone you have 61 percent of the new registrants, 236,000 people, 61 percent of those are under the age of 20, now owe have seen senator sanders has won with young voters basically everywhere and also seen him doing very well with young voters in california so you would assume that helps him because but you don't know because there are a lot of people who are starting to vote with agers toward donald trump, hillary clinton had plenty of young people who like her as well. so we are expecting a flood of turnout and sanders does seem to have quite a bit of momentum, especially here in southern california as he barnstorms the state, he hasn't left and be here he every single day all across a the state. >> and the new voters it is a very large scale, right? >> yes, hun

california, here we come. i mean when you look at this campaign, you know, it's the charge of the light brigade? isn't the last stand at gal iply. >> i think he's running for some cabinet position. the reality is there's no pathway, right? i think he's trying to make the case i can help the ticket. i can bring ohio. i'm the strongest candidate against, you know, the democrats, likely hillary clinton. i think he's trying to position himself for some sort of cabinet position much he's got nothing to lose at this point. >> other than carry his home state, what has this guy done? marco rubio has more delegates. the problem you have in this problem is -- well, kasich has a low overhead so he doesn't need to raise money. he's not running tv ads. the problem is you become a laughingstock at a certain point and lose credibility to get on the v.p. ticket. >> do you have any concerns about the never trump movement saying they're going to keep move something. >> no. they've run out of oxygen. i don't know any major donor

now, the california state director, michael siroco has now just qui the california campaign ahead of the primary. he was known as organizing the digital part of the sanders campaign. he told reporters in california there had been a split in the sanders campaign over whether to focus on that kind of grass roots on-line organizing, or whether it would be better to focus on running tv ads in california, since california is such a vast playing field. well, in that strategic debate, apparently the digital guy lost telling reporters quote, the campaign wanted to go in a different direction with the california strategy so we mutually parted ways. but if that was the fight, grass roots organizing or tv ads, and the grass roots organizing guy says he lost that argument so he now left the campaign then you would expect the sanders campaign to start running tons of tv ads in california, right? i mean, the sanders campaign has run a ton of tv ads, spending more than 20 million, in california, the state the sanders campaign says is absolutely crucial to their strategy, they have spent millions in
