this happened in west philadelphia. you're looking live at the scene right now. northbound 63rd street is closed between lansdown and master. pamela osborne has just arrived on the scene. tell us what's happening. >> reporter: vai, you can see the police cruiser involved in that accident is still here on the scene. just within the past minute or so, they opened up this intersection. traffic again is moving at 63rd street. you do want to keep your eye out. there is still quite a bit of police activity here. now, the injured officer was a passenger in that cruiser. police tell us that sergeant and an officer were heading to assist with a burglary in progress. the cruiser was heading east on haverford with lights and sirens on when they were clipped by a septa bu septa bus. the impact caused the cruiser to spin and wreck into a pole. there were no passengers on the bus. the sergeant who was driving the cruiser was not injured, but he was taken to the hospital to be checked out. the officer that was hurt was walking and talking before he was taken by ambulance to pen

from remembering the victims in orlando to back here in west philadelphia, nbc 10's monique braxton is live with a story of a high school star killed in yesterday's shooting. monique, this day is becoming more difficult as names and faces are put to these victims. >> reporter: that's right, jaqueline. i can tell you that the basketball teammates of akyra murray just left this high school wearing their jerseys proudly on their way to center city to the city's vigil for those folks who died yesterday morning. now i should also tell you why we have been here at west catholic high, we have hear murray was outstanding in athletics and academics. >> as a teammate, she was always a hustler. she was the hungryiest out of all of us. >> reporter: that's how camilla harris remembers her teammate akyra murray. how long did you play with her? >> this is my first year playing with her, so it was a hell of a year. >> reporter: akyra murray graduated last week. she was named female scholar athlete of the year. on the school's website you find a picture of murray signing a letter of intent to play bask

nbc 10's pamela osborne is live at southwest detectives in west philadelphia. do police think they lured the driver with a fake delivery order? >> that's exactly what police happened last night. they think it could be teens responsible for this brutal attack. they need your help tracking those suspects down. detectives say the victim, a 35-year-old delivery driver froo chillen pizza was making a delivery to the 5700 block of beaumont avenue just before 11:00 last night when he was kidnapped. the person that called to place the order called the delivery driver and said he'd be right out. the victim had his back turned and was getting food out of the passenger's side of the car. the two suspects drove him to the victim of cobbs creek and warrenton. they forced him out of the car and on to his knees. they went through his pockets and took about $60. the suspects asked for more money and the victim didn't have it. one of the suspects acted as though he was going to run that delivery driver over. the driver tried to run away. the suspects forced him back on his knee

fox 29's chris o'connell is live in west philadelphia, chris, a heart broken community coming together tonight. >> reporter: iain, it was less than two week ago that akyra murray graduated third in her class here from west catholic prep. well torque night former classmates, teachers and alumni are gathering for a vigil in her memory. the flag outside of west catholic prep at half mass tonight. that is where people are gathering as we speak. the vigil just started. the community here is in mourning over the death of an academic and basketball stand out akyra was the youngest victim of the orlando nightclub massacre. she was there on a family vacation when her cousin and friend all three of them shot and held hostage by gunman omar mateen. murray died after being shot in the arm just 18 years old. to night school administrators will address friends, former classmates, teachers and alumni to troy to make some sense of this senseless tragedy. >> one of the characteristics of the school is that we are a family. so when this type of situation happens in any family, family gathers together an
