d.c., marina maracco, fox5 local news. > question, can you rely on 911 1 #? well, after this his weekend's outage in thethe district, fox5 has been asking what is being done to make suree that y need just in case of an emergency? a maintenance contractor accidentally flippedn the wrong switch and caused the outage. the calls should have been rerouted to a backup center, the outage also impacted communication for the police and fire departments so we asked d.c. mayor muriel bowser what is in place now to prevent thisre from happening again.g we're very obviously concerned c about any systems that aren't working. we have identified the rootntif cause of this outage and we are investigating the root cause oft the equipment failure. so i've ordered our teams to do a top to bottom review of the technology problems and we're actually going to have our chief technology officer lead that effort. > the district is now workingo to test a new fail/safe program. in the meantime d.c. will have two 911
