fox 25's john monahan is live in south boston with a rundown on what's going to happen in the morning. hn >> mark, we were here as parents were inside at a private meeting to update them on the changes. one by one as they exited they tell us they are satisfied. one woman told fox 25 her daughter has gone here for the past five years after what she heard tone she's convinced tomorrow the drop-in center will be the safest place in the city. a memorial sits in front of the community center. flowers and stuffed animals in place to remember kaiser here last tuesday. tomorrow the drop-in center will reopen. >> it's just sad sometimes it takes a horrific event just to bring change. i think we'll see as we move forward here how the changes work. >> reporter: the changes included a private meeting at the center tonight for parents. fox 25 the only camera at the meeting but we were not allowed inside. outside though parents did tell us off camera they are procedures. among those changes a head count procedure. front desk staffing that now requires parents to sign in and sign out their children.

tonight fox 25's john monahan has more on the threat in a story you will see only on fox 25. john? >> reporter: mark i tell you right now police put out a warning it appears that to do that again this week. this vehicle shows personal vehicle of ats police officer missing a tire. it happened again. on thursday left a police his rear tire fell off. it's definitely concerning. a former current security expert says this was no accident. the boston police patrolman's association said a transit officer lost a rear tire while travelling home. it was in the mechanic's opinion that it was intentionally loosened. and the boston regional intelligence center known as brick also put out a mbta police officer's personal vehicle fell off while the officer was driving home. it is possible the lug nuts had been intentionally loosened. dan linski says in the current climate officers need to be vigilant. >> it's very serious and it's time for our law enforcement to be ever watchful to make sure they are dotting is and crossing ts. >> reporter: tonight we learn that brick warning people possibly look

fox 25's john monahan just got new information from detectives on scene, and he's live first at 10:00 with these late, breaking details. john. >> vanessa and park, blueville southbound remains closed tonight. that's the car that was involved inent. three people were hurt, which happened, this accident too many as they tried to cross the street about 8:30 tonight. all three the toyota which, according to one hit, may have tried turn around and change direction. the victims include a 10-year-old girl, her 40-year-old father and a 22-year-old friend, who police tell fox 25 was in a wheelchair. the father appears to have the most serious injuries here. he received severe head and facial trauma, according to police. all three victims were taken to local hospitals. one woman, who was waiting at a nearby bus stop, tells us she saw the whole thing. coupled, the wheelchair going across the street and a car with the headlights coming up. looked like the car was about to slow down to let them go by, but when i looked, thehad no way tof the way or stop or nothing. so before i know it, they just a

john monahan is live and firefighters are concerned about the lack of water they need to battle fires, john. >> that's right. this is a remote place, especially when it comes to finding water. this is the loan fire hydrant that firefighters had to use and they had to figure out somehow how to get water from here to up this hill. john monahan is live in milford, right in the middle of all the action so far this afternoon. john? >> the reporter: good afternoon, mark. yes, it is. i'll tell you right now, we're in the next down over from menden. we were here in the last hour, the rain let up though, at about last 30 minutes. about an hour ago, it was pelting, take a look at the shot about an hour ago. it shows the intersection back by route 16 and 109, it was just pouring down out of the sky, for a good 15, 20 minutes. now, the rain delayed traffic at an already busy intersection at the height of rush hour and the storm moved through the the cloudsoverhead were dark and ominous. they sat around for the last half-hour. they started to clear up. as we come back live, the clouds are starting to break. the storms have moved off toward the north and north worcester county. we're more in northern worcester county, but this town got a good soaking and a lot of people in this area thankful for that, because we haven't had a lot of rain. we'll follow this around as the night goes on. live in milford this afternoon, john

fox 25 john monahan tonight has the story from hanover. he spoke with the dog's owner who is of course shaken by the dog's death. >> he was bitten from head to tail. >> reporter: tracy siciliano was horrified after seeing her she left him at the briarwood kennel in hanover for six days in july while on a family trip. but she knew something was wrong as soon as she went to pick ben up. >> he was all matted looking and emaciated looking. and i said to dave, that's not ben, that's not my dog. >> reporter: but it was. she says the kennel owner gave ricardo at first seemed unaware of her problem. >> he knew that grizzly had malled him. >> reporter: grizzly is dave's golden retriever. he and ben had scuffled before. dave promised he'd keep them apart. but had not. dave took ben to the animal hospital. vets there said he was in rough shape. >> he had a seizure. his temperature was 106. >> reporter: even surgery couldn't save ben. he died the next day. so we dave our own questions. threw his hands up and told us he feels terrible. so does tracy. >

john monahan is live in boston, where the d.a. just released hundreds of documents, john, as well as some photos an even video of that deadly confrontation. >> the reporter: that's right, elizabeth. it's a lot of information to go through. the d.a. also met with usaama rahim's family today earlier today the d.a. held a press conference this afternoon and after that, the family held their own press conference. the family's attorney spoke today but the family did not speak. they do say however they request why police did not try to deescalate the situation, but the police point to this video. rahim, who you see entering a cvs in june of 2015. if you look closely, there's a cord hanging from his pants. the d.a. says that cord was the rahim's leg. the knife the d.a. says rahim would later pull on police. rahim had been under federal investigation for months, for a lot to behead a person in new york. then suddenly in conversations on the phone that investigators were listening to, his plans changed. he intended to harm a boston police

john monahan is in the area. you just got details about the man who was hurt. >>> he's a worked with a dmw dealership on the back side of the fence. that's where the tree trimming service was at work. you can see the truck behind the fence and the tree service was trimming trees. this young man was hit from a branch that fell as they were doing that work. now the young man was in the alley when police say the belmont tree service was trimming trees for a local realty company. and somehow, a 29-year-old man was struck by a branch that fell to the ground. police tell fox 25, it was about in diameter. it caused a huge commotion here as police and rescue crews were called to the scene. here's what a witness tells fox 25. >> there was a commotion, hear some trees fall and there was a guy with a red t-shirt on laying on the ground with a bunch of like, tree branches, limbs on top of him, and he wasn't really moving. about 15, 20 minutes later, ambulance shows up. >> the reporter: you can see the area is still taped off

john monahan looked at the report that raises some serious questions. >> the reporter: the bush public schools released -- boston public schools findings into an investigation on what it calls buys ad based conduct at the prestigious boston latin school. the school department's office of equity looked at 115 reports of bias based conduct at boston latin. they involved 81 separate incidents. in six of those cases, administrators failed to follow district policy when it came to investigating racial bias. in four cases, teachers also nailed to do so. and -- failed to do so and in four cases, students failed to follow policy with it came to superintendent tommy chang was not available to go on camera today, but he did release a statement which says in part, we have a moral obligation to ensure that all of our schools are safe and inviting places for each and every student. the racial, cultural and linguistic identity of every student must be honored. in the wake of this controversy, the longtime head master at boston latin resigned, and so did the assistant head master, shortly after that.

john monahan first broke the story and is live tonight in east boston, with some new information on this latest incident. john? >> the reporter: blair and vanessa, it happened at cystic 87 in east boston. this time we found out it was a female officer who hopped into her vehicle after work and then she noticed a problem. and two lug nuts loosened altogether. the officer was driving home when her steering wheel started to shake and she had trouble steering her vehicle. she continued home and got out to see her wheel had been tampered with. this is the 3rd incident since july. fox 25 broke this story about an officer who lost a tire after driving home from district a1 downtown. then, last thursday, a transit officer also lost a tire, driving home from a boston police parking lot in dorcst determined the vehicle's lug nuts were loosened. today, we asked mayor marty walsh about the incident and he says, it is very concerning. >> we got to find out who is doing this. i mean, that's a dangerous thing to do and you know, our police department, our officers don't deserve that. i mean, they deser

in quincy, i'm john monahan, fox 25 news. another massachusetts school district will soon begin testing its water for lead. quincy school's superintendent says they'll test the water inside all 19 schools this fall. it's part of a statewide program sponsored by governor baker. nearly 1,000 public schools and childcare centers have signed up to figure out exec what's coming out their water fountains. >> these kids, they don't really know what's tell them. not to use the faucets. unless it's supervised. >> the boston public school found high levels of lead in six buildings. the district says it immediately shut down the fountains and replaced them with bottle water coolers. quincy schools will start testing september 19th. >> the drought rolls on. situation, southern new hampshire northshore through the boston area. that means you lose big pastures and can lose crops, that's what the criteria are. 8-inches below average. not necessarily all that is looked at. worcester is the same but they're out in the severe category there. t
