and i don't believe that it's going to impact steven avery's conviction much. i think that's a totally separate issue. after hearing the news -- steven avery's former attorney -- jerry buting -- tweeted this out. he says -- "jusc strikes!" and avery's current lawyer tweeted quote: "justice for brendan as another law enforcement fabricated confession bites the dust. convicting the innocent foiled by unbiased court." dassey is currently serving his prison sentence at columbia correctional institution in portage. the court has ordered that he be freed from prison within 90 days... unless the case is appealed. live in the newsroom, ashley

dassey and his uncle steven avery were both arrested in connection to the death of teresa halbach-- a photographer who had been hired county property to take photographs. dassey was 16 years old when he was arrested.. and once in custody, he confessed to authorities to helping his uncle rape and murder halbach. in today's decision, the court ruled investigators made false promises to dassey during his interview and the confession was coerced. the ruling states '...he did not seem to grasp the seriousness of the matter...' we spoke with avery's original attorney, jerry buting, about the ruling and his hopes for his 14:19 i'm extremely pleased, that brendan's attorneys have done an excellent job in finally persuading a court to look at the reality of what happened here. i'm glad that brendan's going to get another chance at justice and i'm hopeful that steven avery is next. again, buting was avery's attorney in the original trial.. the two were tried separately.
