"today in new york's" tracie strahan is there with more. tracie? >> reporter: darlene, in a briefing a short time ago, an assistant police chief called the two officers involved from the precinct lucky. one of them had a gun taken from his holster by that 30-year-old suspect. the other was shielding a man who ultimately died from gunshot wounds. want to show you video of the scene from all of this happening around 1:00 this morning. been identified by police as efron guzman. he was in one bodega here on valentine avenue. it's unclear what the dispute was in that bodega. that 49-year-old deli worker followed him inside. alerted the people that he had caused a ruckus before. that's when guzman went wild according to authorities. precinct came inside and tried to do the same. they say guzman grabbed the gun right out of the holster from one of the police officers. >> looking at video, mr. guzman made a very fast move and basically ripped the gun out of the officer's holster. it's not an easy thing to do. if a holster is -- if gun is in the holster, it
