fox 5 alexandra limon is live in fairfax county how officials are handling this possible threat. alex? >> reporter: polling places like this in fairfax county have been fairly busy all day long with absentee voters throughout the day. i did talk to election officials here, on top of dealing with the large crowds that we're seeing and the ones expected on election day, they're also potential terrorist threat, and a local authorities are working with the fbi for several reasons. one of them is assessing the credibility of the threat. also, of course, having a security plan in place for the days leading up to the election, and of course, on election day, and on top of that, of course, there are different security scenarios that both election officials and authorities have to think about, we've heard intimidation, the sheer number of people expected to vote on tuesday, we've heard numbers of above 85% of voters expected to turn out, and now there's this new report that al qaida may be planning a preelection day attack possibly in new york, texas and here in virginia. >> our officers,

these are examples just for fairfax county absentee votes alone. officials here tell me they seen about 60,000 people vote in the county in person far, that brings the total to about 89,000 absentee votes for the county. so far and we're four days out from the election. now, let's compare that to this time in the 2012 election, the county has seen about 62,000 total absentee votes, to put that in perspective, that means, so far, this election, fairfax higher absentee votes, that's a huge number compared to the last presidential election, and perhaps it's giving ace little glimpse of what we're going to be expecting on election day, i talked to several officials in fairfax county, arlington county, also prince william county, all of them estimate they will have at least in the ballpark of 85 percent voter turn-out. that is huge. live in fairfax county, alexandra limon, fox 5 local news. incredible numbers. going out to the polls >> you heard the people alex talked to they like the convenience. maybe it's something we should look at >> by a alex. >>>

fairfax county police initiated the chase after a traffic stop, we're told. also joining it, virginia state police and louden county sheriff's office. chopper 4 got wind of this as it approached dulles airport near route 28, and it went and went. along route 7, both eastbound and westbound. person on the chopper tried some tricky maneuvers to get through some of the ski elude law enforcement. we saw high speeds and we saw very sharp turns. we didn't see any injuries or any crashes. but this chase went for about an hour before the operator of the motorcycle got stuck in what appears to be sticky traffic in route 7 near belmont ridge. he goes beneath tunnels, through wooded areas, roadway that is near wooded areas and near a big way through cars, a lighter than normal rush hour on route 7. he eventually got stuck here, the trickest of the traffic. he pulls into the left turn lane. law enforcement isn't quite in close proximity yet. he gets off the bike, surrenders, gets down on the ground as crusers come in from the front and back. kind of the right side of rou
