kathy: stay off the trails. that's the warning for students after several coyote sightings near an elm grove school. new tonight on hillary mintz tells us the steps , the school is taking to keep students safe. >> coyotes on the prowl. after several recent sightings off of pilgrim parkway near the middle school, elmbrook schools put out this notice to parents warning them about coyotes , spotted on trails east of the school. >> we made them aware of the sightings and the proportions this trail to walk or bike to class, but for now, they want them to stay off of it. >> none of the sightings were on school property, but we want them to be safe to and from school. >> in the meantime, they've contacted police and the dnr. according to the dnr, it is mating season, and although coyotes aren't known to attack humans, the school isn't taking any chances. in elm grove, hillary mintz wisn 12 news. kathy: there have been no from these recent sightings. there have been two deadly coyote attacks against other animals in mil

kathy: wisconsin. that amount is now nearly $3.9 million. 12 news terry sater is live where the milwaukee county recount will take place beginning thursday morning. >> milwaukee county is already preparing for the recount at this warehouse. each county has to have a place where the ballots can be inspected and recounted. and all of those places have to be secure so no one can tamper with the votes. >> our cost estimate was based on a machine recount. costly, primarily because it would be more labor intensive. >> milwaukee county clerk joseph czarnezki says the recount cost is more than a half a million dollars. he estimates he'll pay $150,000 of that for sheriff's deputies to guard milwaukee county's ballots, nearly a third of the total cost of the recount. >> we have to have county sheriff's deputies escort those ballots to make sure no one tampers with those ballots while they're in transit. once we have those ballots at the recount site, the sheriff's department will be providing 24 -houcu >> we hav

kathy: good to hear that. milwaukee county jail. this is after she says she gave birth to a baby girl and the baby died. as wisn 12 news terry sater reports new on the woman says 12, she told a corrections officer she was going into labor and nothing was done. >> this is 30-year-old shade swayzer. in july she says she gave birth to a healthy baby girl while in the milwaukee county jail but received no medical help in a maximum security unit. jason jankowski is her attorney and filed a notice of claim for i lawsuit against the sheriff. >> she had to spend 23 hours a day locked in herself -- in her cell with very little contact or medical treatment. >> the notice of claim says before swayzer was booked into the jail, glendale police took her to the hospital where she was told her unborn child was viable and her pregnancy was progressing normally. the claim goes on to say that eight days after she was booked into jail, she went into labor had broken. >> and asked him to get a nurse. but instead, he didn't call a doctor, he didn't call
