this u.n. resolution, craig. just earlier today, the israeli security minister said this move by secretary kerry to speak about middle east peace at this particular time was a move to tie the hands of the incoming trump administration. why is he saying that? well, because there's a conference scheduled for next month. a meeting of about 70 different countries. held in france. designed to jump start the mideast peace process. this u.n. resolution was seen -- earlier this week was seen as a starting point for that and the fear among the israeli government and some in the israeli government is that this meeting in france will continue that thread. there will be another u.n. resolution and the trump administration hand's will be tied as far as their own mideast peace or israeli policy. what is at the center of that? we've been hearing about this for the past few days. settlements. jewish settlements in predominantly palestinian areas and areas palestinians see as part of a future palestinian state.
