down the peninsula we are seeing some light rain near red wood city, and just moving close to palo alto. always appreciate when you send me your weather pictures and i love rainbows. this one was sent by dj alex reyes. sent from fremont earlier this morning. thank you for that picture. looking now at lake tahoe in truck, it is 39 degrees, not really that good news because we are seeing temperatures above freezing. so, some of this is coming down as rain. and that will be the case as we go through the weekend but the sierra snow pack is still looking good. we are at 173% of average for the central sierra, that's the statewide average as well. and this is the highest we've had in 22 years. the best amount of snow, the highest snow totals have been in the southern sierra. we're still looking at some more snow in the cast for the weekend, so, if you're planning to get there or if you can get there with some of those roads closed, bring the tire chains and may have to take some alternate routes. we're looking at the potential of at least another foot, possibly close to 2 feet of snow in some
