amy hollyfield is live for us in walnut creek with the story. amy. >> reporter: reggie, i just got off the phone with the spokesperson for the fire department and he said they have had a rash of car fires and all under investigation. this is in walnut creek, and this car still in the driveway, right in front of a home that was saved, just a little garage door looked like it melted there but that is it. firefighters protected the home but the car is destroyed. they got the call at 12:26 this morning to come here to larky and leroy lanes here in walnut creek, and just as they got the fire out they got another call 15 minutes later a car was in fire in lafayette, padre street, just two miles away. these are not the only two car fires this week here in cause trau c, and that call came in at 3:45 in the morning, and the car was parked in the driveway, so a lot of similarities here between these cases. this time firefighters came right out of the gate that time saying this one looked suspicious. three car fires in the same county in the same week, and
