reporter amy hollyfield is live on scene for us. what is the latest there? >> reporter: the man was just taken to the hospital and it looks like he's in very critical condition. it seems like they are concerned he may not make it. officers at the scene telling me they just called their fatal investigative team. the team is on their way here to look into the crash just in case it does turn into a fatal crash. this happened at 3:25 this morning on redwood road in oakland. there were two men and two women in the car, and an officer at the scene tells me they appeared to be young on the younger side and doesn't know their exact ages and there was a security guard in the area and he saw the car before the crash and he heard loud music coming from the car and saw the car do a u-turn and the driving and behavior just caught his eye. >> i already knew something was going happen because i drive this street up and down a few times a night and a fufew secons later, i here the impact and i see the flames, and i helped one male get out and the others were trapped and the

. >> amy hollyfield is live near the scene at orange drive and nut tree road right near the vacaville outlets. amy. >> reporter: hi, jessica. police are still on the scene investigating exactly what happened here. they have not identified the man who was killed here. police say two officers fired their guns here in front of the outlet mall in vacaville, and this started around 12:30 this morning when police ran the plates of the car and determined it had been stolen. as they pursued the car they say he sped up and did not stop. they then did the pit maneuver where they use the front pumpe to tap the car they are chasing to cause it to spin out and that's when the shots erupted. >> we do not know if shots were exchanged between the suspect and the officers. we do know that two of our officers discharged their service weapon. we do not have an identity on the victim, and anytime a life is lost it's a tragedy for a community. >> reporter: the officers involved had on body cameras and also had dashboard cameras rolling so they have footage to go through that could help them in the investi

a nasty crash seriously injuring four people, and abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is on scene with the latest for us. amy. >> reporter: jessica i just talked the firefighter here on scene that called it a challenging technical rescue and here is video shot within the final hour and the final victim being trapped in the car and trapped for almost two hours. firefighters say he is in very critical condition. another man and woman were able to escape on their own. the car was coming downhill at 3:25 this morning on redwood road just past skyline in oakland when it crashed. it hit a fence and the car then rolled and it hit and uprooted a tree and caught fire. a security guard working in the area heard the crash and was first on the scene. >> a lot of screaming and hollering of just panicking in the vehicle, so i didn't know what was going on. a lot of chaos. >> reporter: firefighters say the car was mangled and had the tree on it and that's why it was tough to get the victims out. all four victims were taken to the hospital. the two who were trapped are being described as being in very

amy hollyfield is live for us in walnut creek with the story. amy. >> reporter: reggie, i just got off the phone with the spokesperson for the fire department and he said they have had a rash of car fires and all under investigation. this is in walnut creek, and this car still in the driveway, right in front of a home that was saved, just a little garage door looked like it melted there but that is it. firefighters protected the home but the car is destroyed. they got the call at 12:26 this morning to come here to larky and leroy lanes here in walnut creek, and just as they got the fire out they got another call 15 minutes later a car was in fire in lafayette, padre street, just two miles away. these are not the only two car fires this week here in cause trau c, and that call came in at 3:45 in the morning, and the car was parked in the driveway, so a lot of similarities here between these cases. this time firefighters came right out of the gate that time saying this one looked suspicious. three car fires in the same county in the same week, and

abc 7 news reporter, amy hollyfield has the latest, amy? >> reporter: kristin, some of the own employees say they do not have confidence in him, and this has been very damaging to mor morale in the office. this is a look at the group meeting this morning. this is the board of deputy district attorneys in the county. this board voted unanimously to take a vote among its members of no confidence in their boss, accused and admitted to spending campaign money on himself. a grand jury said yesterday he should be removed from office. if deputy da's vote in favor of no confidence, it's symbolic, not triggering legal action, but the board thinks is would be a powerful statement. >> it's a way for our association to stand up and say this is not acceptable. this situation is not acceptable. we do not agree with mr. peterson's actions, and they do not represent the values that we have as criminal prosecutors in the county. >> reporter: peterson told abc 7 news yesterday he has no comment about the grand jury's decision and did not return calls today.

amy hollyfield is live with us in walnut creek with the rest of the story, amy. >> reporter: look behind me. this is what is left of the walnut creek car. not much. it is destroyed. you can see it's sitting in the driveway close to the home but firefighters did save the home, no damage there. here's video of it when firefighters were here dealing with the fire. this is at leroy in walnut creek. the call came in at 12:26 this morning. then 15 minutes later, another car fire, that one in lafayette on padre street. that's about two miles away and they don't know if it's connected. it sure looks suspicious. here is a look at a car fire from earlier this week in martinez. this is at mid hill that call came at 3:45 in the morning. this car was also in the driveway. it was considered suspicious right away. firefighters have saved all of the homes in all of these cases, and nobody has been hurt. but we have not heard of any arrests being made. live in walnut creek, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >>> an investigation is under way this morning into a fire at a goodwill in pleasant hill. contra costa f

amy hollyfield is live where the training is taking place, amy? >> hi, kristin, this is not the same ground the dogs are used to. they trained out there, and we went along for the ride to see how they did. this is 3-year-old dusty's first time on the boat. couldn't have asked for better weather or better setting, but this is not for leisure. dusty is here to work. the tsa watches to see how she handles the new environment. >> whether it's training on ships or at the stadium or at the bart station, there's different sites, sounds, and disinstructions that dogs really pay attention to. it's important to get them in different scenarios. they worked in the office, a little anxious wondering how she'd react to the sounds of the ship. >> some dogs shut down, and she wanted to work. >> reporter: she found two detonation cords aboard a horn blower ship, one dangling from the ceiling, the other hidden behind the counter. her handler couldn't have been prouder. the tsa is responsible for certifying the dogs for mass transportation systems. if a dog fails to

abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live in alameda. amy? >> reporter: hi, natasha, someone left flowers and candles overnight here at the scene where these two people were killed in alameda. some residents here say this accident is exactly what they have been afraid would happen here. here is the surveillance video of the crash. you will only see it on abc 7 news. witnesses say the driver was speeding and ran red lights on park street before losing control. residents who are frustrated with the speeding that happens on this downtown street started a campaign "slow down in town" to bring attention to traffic safety. >> everybody is kind of upset really just that it's an ongoing problem in alameda. >> i try my best to cross at a light and maybe go two blocks out of my way so that i can be safer than over >> reporter: police say speed was a factor in yesterday's deadly crash. there were seven people inside that pickup truck. two died, five are in critical condition. police have not released their names. reporting live from alameda, amy hollyfi
