nbc 10's drew smith is live in overbrook tonight. drew, it seems like everybody knew the victims. >> reporter: denise, we heard so many stories. in fact, they say on a day like this, this family would be out cooking for neighborhood, but tonight instead we smell the smoke from this fire that tore through this row home claiming three lives and sending another to the hospital. the news hit hard for neighbors, friends and family and the smell of smoke woke them up and then they heard the sounds of screams. >> hanging up to the window telling miss anne, miss anne, come out the window. your house is on fire >> reporter: philadelphia fire department began attacking the fire from the front and the back of the home and a handicapped man in his 80s couldn't make it out and his wife couldn't leave him and they both died along with their grandson. when the fire was out neighbors remembered who they lost. >> he was fairly outgoing, yeah. my uncle was the same way, too. good guys, a good christian woman. >> reporter: a cousin shared this photo of
