veronica de la cruz tells us about the theatrics in the courtroom today that made some jurors smile. veronica? >> that's right, liz. during closing arguments today the defense referred to a bucket of shame in a top 10 list to try to clear his client. 25-year-old antwon garcia torres is accused of kidnapping and killing 15-year-old sierra lamar five years ago. today defense attorney al lopez cited a top 10 list why the jury should dismiss the charges including his calm demeanor, no tools to hide the body, no murder weapon, no witnesses, no crime scene, no cause of death in that sierra is still a missing person. >> the defense did a good job relating to the jury in what is a very difficult case when you talk about the kidnapping and murder of a teenager. good evening, i'm veronica de la cruz. >> i'm allen martin. new at 6:00, a heated school board meeting in palo alto. parents are outraged that a teenager convicted of sexual assault was allowed to remain in school. kpix 5's maria medina is live outside the meeting with the response from the school district tonight. maria. >> reporter: the board is now in a closed-door session. before that parents lined up to talk saying the district failed to tell them a predator was among their children until the media reported it. >> we need to know when we have an active predator around. >> and i just don't trust you guys. >> there's not a sense of safety in terms of the administration making us aware because it's obvious that a lot of this is kept private. >> reporter: one by one parents expressed concerns to school board members. >> they have not only allowed the predator to remain on campus but failed to tell the community about the disturbing events. >> reporter: it comes interest district staff allowing a teenager to stay in school even after learning

as veronica de la cruz shows us, the president now says he's doing everyone a favor. >> right, ken, that's what he's saying. the president stayed out of the public eye today, but this morning he tweeted this. "rather than causing a big disruption in new york city that he would be working in bedminister, new jersey. the mayor sent congress a letter asking for an estimated $300,000 to cover the president's upcoming visit. that does not include the price tag for surrounding towns or even the state of new jersey. >> the bottom line is the president no matter where he goes is the president and he doesn't get to control the level of costs and security that may come along with that. >> now trump's new jersey golf club is cheaper to secure than his new york penthouse. the police department estimates that would cost more than $300,000 per day when mr. trump is there. that's double the $146,000 that the nypd is paying per day to protect the first lady and their son baron. congress agreed to budget an extra $6 million to reimburse localities for costs associated with all these get-aways. >>> a ruling

i'm veronica de la cruz. >> i'm ken bastida. kpix5's susie steimle is at the millennial tower with the details of this lawsuit. susie? >> reporter: well, ken and veronica, tenants here at the millennial tower have expressed concerns for their property value and their safety and that's why so many of them have filed lawsuits and joe montana says he supports those concerns, but he's also trying to protect one thing in this lawsuit just announced and that's his reputation. after being one of the first people to positively promote millennial tower, joe montana now joins a long list of tenants suing for their negative experience. montana's lawsuit alleges the tower has sunk a total of 16 inches since 2008, that developers knew about it and failed to tell prospective owners like himself. >> we all know the millennial tower is sinking and tilting. the millennial partners have yet to address this in any meaningful way. >> reporter: the san francisco supervisor has been leading the charge against millennial powers in a series of hearings
