josh mankiewicz (voiceover): kobi tried again. josh mankiewicz (voiceover): a dead end. but detectives were now convinced that eric killed his wife. even though it didn't lead to anything, that conversation with kobi, that got you from suspicion to knowing. yeah, it moved it all the way over, so we knew we had a homicide. josh mankiewicz (voiceover): but knowing it and proving it were two very different things. you didn't get to process that boat as a crime scene for almost a week. right, right. so that wasn't good. that hindered the investigation. josh mankiewicz (voiceover): the boat, said detective murphy, was pretty clean. crime scene did find blood, just one drop, under one of the cushions, but not enough to determine whether it was human blood. it could have come from a fish. not enough evidence to arrest eric for murder or even prove that a murder occurred. pegye's close friend glenda didn't believe eric was a killer. there's no way that eric would have done that. there's just absolutely no way. it was unfathomable to me. josh mankiewicz (voiceover): tina new felt

josh mankiewicz: but who? the detective hope russell douglas' widow, brenna douglas, might shed some light on that. but that night, when he told her the father of her two children had been murdered, the detective says he got a strange feeling. i never try to judge how people are going to react when i tell them things. but her response wasn't what i expected. as in not emotional enough? she wasn't shocked, at least not visually shocked. it was a bit matter of fact. and that did leave us, at least, wondering when we walked out of the house, yes. josh mankiewicz: and so brenna douglas, as the wives of murdered men often do, became a person of interest. the domestic situation seemed unsettled. they were separated. russell was living in an apartment in renton. according to brenna, they were trying to work it out-- talking about getting back together. josh mankiewicz: in fact, the new widow told the detective that her husband had spent the holidays with her and the kids. she said the last time she saw him was the mo

josh: it will be more important. i say that because the internet on items liken phones, they are typically used autonomously. attacks whereome they are able to exploit, like webcams, for example. slightly different, but the ideas that those devices need to secure way to get from our updates, if they are sending out data, maybe it is temperature data, sensor data, maybe they are connected to sensitive machines, you would not want that data to be intercepted by a third party for competitive reasons or maybe a hacker. peter: there are lots of different doorways into a system, correct? josh: absolutely. the crypto is typically not the first choice of a hacker. there are usually easier methods to get in. it could be they have a password that is the same password everywhere, or is on the website. that is typically the first means of attack. notflipside is if you do implement the crypto property -- properly, you can think you're safe, but attacks could make that not the case. peter: what do you do to protect your devices? j

josh, i want to talk policy on iran here. you heard nikki haley saying that we're in the iran nuclear deal right now. interpret that. what's your takeaway from that statement? >> the president has repeatedly said he doesn't want to continue certifying the deal. he has done it twice and said he wasn't going to do it again so they're kicking it back to congress to figure it out. he made it clear he was threatening to pull out of the deal, he may pull out of the deal later, that he wants different terms, but he still is in it now. the president has talked in very strong terms on this, but at the end of the day, the deal is not torn up or shredded as some people might think. >> and erin, you have key u.s. allies this morning, they're reaffirming their commitment to the iran nuclear deal. does that put the u.s. in a tight spot? >> oh, it absolutely does. i think that is putting pressure on congress. congress, of course, is going to have 60 days to act. it may be very unlikely that they do, in part for that reason. trump has been b
