this is not coming from nate. this is a cold front pushing into the area a thunderstorm popped up to the north. a chance we'll see isolated thunderstorms today and a chance we'll see some tomorrow as the remnants of nate move our way. nate is still a tropical storm no longer a hurricane that will weaken considerably. look at all that moisture and that's the moisture that will be coming at us during the day tomorrow. looks likely to move in in the morning and the afternoon we can see it move out of the area. the winds are down to 70 miles an hour. still a strong storm and moving to the north/northeast at 23 miles an hour. it's a very fast moving storm. it's 234not going to take that long. you see the showers moving in, coming in with the cold front. showers taper off as we go into the afternoon. 1:00 this afternoon some scattered showers, mainly just cloudy and warm with temperatures in the low 80s. you can see a few drops here and there. an isolated shower is possible. a chance of some thunderstorms developing as

nate now moving its way to the north, northeast. roughly about 20 miles an hour, maximum sustained winds at 35. this is the latest update that 11:00 hour. take a look at some of the updates for some of the rain totals so far. unbelievable great falls north carolina, more than 11 inches of rainfall. actually more than 11 and a half inches so far whereas in dixon alabama they've got almost seven. this is a pretty good exam \am\many of what is happening. there is anywhere present one to four inches in addition that could still hit these areas. this is not over just yet for them. we are going to keep an eye on this system as it continues its move to the north and the northeast but we expect to seat remnants of nate hit our area in the early morning hours of monday with some -- probably coming in very late tonight in the very we hours across our area. what's happening right now is there is a frontal system that this moisture is actualy interacting with over the ohio valley and they're actually getting quite a bit of rainfall right there.

and ryan nate sure did pack a punch. nate barreled through the gulf coast as a category one hurricane and knocked out power for more than 100-thousand people across the region and caused some pretty serious flooding. take a look at this. a parking garage in mississippi turned into a body of water. cars in over five feet of sea water - being tossed around nate also spawned tornadoes. one destroyed several homes and uprooted trees in south carolina. despite the damage - officials in the gulf coast say they were prepared for this storm after learning a tough lesson from hurricane katrina. across the south, crews now busy clearing roads and fixing power lines. no deaths or injuries were reported from hurricane nate it's now been one week since a gunman opened fire on a crowd of 22-thousand attending a jason aldean concert in las vegas - killing 58 and injuring more than 500. vegas strip went dark to honor the victims of the shooting. signs went dark at 10:05 for 11 minutes marking the time gun shots first rang out..and the d

doug, is nate moving out? >> nate is already out of here for the most part. it's up around the boston area. extremely fast moving storm at one time moving 50 to 60 miles per hour. we did see rain early this morning and still we have seen a couple scattered showers around the region. if you look at the radar right now, really nothing to show. we did have a couple light sprinkles in portions of montgomery and howard county. that is now over with. take a look at what we are dealing with here and that is nate way up towards boston. here it was early this morning bringing us some fairly heavy rainfall, now watching that moisture move to the boston area. what it's done, not just bring us beneficial rainfall. it has brought us some very intense heat and humidity for this time of year. take a look at the temperatures around our region. we're at 85 degrees right now. the average temperature is near 70. it's 86 in hagerstown, 82 in richmond, and it feels a lot hotter than this. we're going to talk much more about the heat, the humidity that's still to come examine the

but nate nate will continue to move tour the louisiana coastline. it look like it will make landfall if not extreme eastern outer islands there those barrier islands of louisiana if it misses that, it some go a shore right around bill lock see mississippi where ironically enough is where some of the hurricane hunter aircraft are stationed. it doesn't look like it's going to be a super strong hurricane, but it is getting stronger. it's forecast to be annie 90 per hour hurricane which would stay keep it at a category one. but i think it probably will strengthen a little bit more than that if it continues to strengthening cycle. very dangerous storm. hurricane force winds right now 35 miles in always directions from the center and it does appear to be trying to get a little bit more organized. it will bring us rain starting tomorrow, tomorrow night and into monday as well. so we'll talk more about the rain potential forecast as well here in just a few minutes. but again another week, this is the third weekend we've had a landfalling hurricane in the us

hurricane nate made landfall as a category 1 storm. howard bernstein is here. talk to us. >> it's a hurricane. even it's a category 1 hurricane they still break things and flood things and still kill people. not as bad as the big storms we've seen but certainly it's going to be a rough night. and it made landfall near the mouth of the mississippi. there's a little bit of land there so that was the landfall. it's going to make a second landfall in about 90 minutes. probably near bay st. louis, gulf port over there. as it's moving off toward the north. easily pick up the center of circulation here. one problem. those are tornado warnings and we talked about this before how landfalling tropical systems to the right of the track often spawn tornadoes. and some of the feeder bands and we've seen some of that this afternoon and into the night. there's the storm. far enough east of new orleans that new orleans has had minimal impacts but boy, the outer eyewall some of the islands south of structures there. so hopefully they don't get damaged. but we're seeing it getti
