we are dry in south jersey and delaware. that is precipitation falling and the at motion fear is too dry to pick up precipitation. but we are dry but we are tracking an elongated system stretching out from texas with the rare and early soon snow out along the deep south and up through the southeast and the mid-atlantic region as well. we are awaiting an area of low pressure forming just off the atlantic coast than helps to enhance the snowfall across the delaware and lehigh valleys. the winter storm watch is up for south jersey. winter weather advisories for south philadelphia and suburbs north and west. the winter storm watch and the advisories go up late tonight and lasting through saturday night. as far as precipitation future tracker 6 showing you as early as 8:00 tomorrow morning. we have the snow developing along the i-95 corridor and already started for areas south and east. and we have mixing along the immediate coastline. as far as what to expect and the accuweather alert. we see the trend with the storm. it started

it's started in south delaware and south jersey. and we're pretty much going to be looking at slippery travel from tonight all the way through tomorrow night. anywhere from two to four inches in philly and the suburbs, four to six in south jersey and delaware. there could be pockets of higher amounts, special inland. we're seeing that changeover, but the atmosphere is very dry. it's slow to get to the ground. we're seeing that changeover for sussex county into parts of kent county, also taking a look at what's going on in cape may county. the system is making its way northward. headed northeast, and so the bulk of it is not going to be to us until early tomorrow morning. it stretches all the way back down into the deep south. let's kind of give you an idea of what we're looking at. watch this, the temperatures are still above freezing, but look at this. at 9:30 it's still in south jersey and delaware at 2:00 a.m. it's still in south jersey and delaware. temperatures fall and this starts to climb across the area. we're going to discu

everybody's nicely above freezing even in the 50s in south jersey tomorrow morning. by later in the day tomorrow, that's when we'll see steadier rain, especially tomorrow night. the possibility we'll see downpours. look at the temperatures, into the 60s. that's at 11:00 tomorrow night. a big warmup. we'll see the showers taper off first thing. the temperatures will start to fall wednesday morning. here comes the cold for the balance of the week. not bad today once the fog clears. wet weather tomorrow especially later in the day, 62 the high. azerbaijs we saw, that may come midnight on tuesday. a warm start on wednesday early in the morning. the temperatures drop during the day. then here comes the cold with a chance that we'll see snowflakes. a chance of snow showers on friday and into saturday. a storm system that will be offshore may get close enough to bring us some snow. if it doesn't, we'll still get the cold. that's going to continue for much of next week. 30s for sunday, monday, tuesday, and wednesday afternoon. high of just 34 degrees. tracy? >> thank you. >>

the farther south you go in south jersey, the better chance you have wet roads. philadelphia 1.4 inches. malvern, two inches. philadelphia.8 at the airport. montgomery county, 2.1 inches that's the highest snowfall total i'm seeing on any any of other reports this morning. downingtown, one, i think the final will be higher. newark, delaware we have .8 on the ground. mount holly, 1.2. an inch in voorhees and vineland, a little more at the airport in ac. the continuing -- diminishing of snow showers. 35 is the high in lehigh valley. in philadelphia, we'll get a high of 38 this afternoon, sun and clouds, more and more sun later in the afternoon. not as harsh with the sun above freezing temperatures profile we'll melt this light snow that fell overnight. keep in mind even though after it starts to melt and gets on to pavement, the winds may dry off some of it. anything that doesn't dry could wind up refreezing this evening, as temperatures are expected to go back to the freezing mark at dinnertime or so. overnight tonight, 22 degrees. that's what to expect on the bus

in all these areas and across the river in parts of immediate south jersey across the river in south jersey and wilmington. we have numbers below freezing. millville, 35 degrees. 40 in came -- cape may. down in south jersey you didn't get as much about a coating to an inch. i was able to put together early forecasts of snow in philadelphia, an inch 1/2, same story in chadds ford, delaware county. up in the lehigh valley airport, 8 inches of snow. graterford 1.8 inches. and downing down 1.8. this will fall apart quickly by the end of the rush hour i think we're poking holes in the clouds. later today we're expecting the return of sunshine. as we head out early this morning it's below freezing, 8:00 a.m., 30 degrees, you might have slick spots on side streets and secondaries, i hope by 8:00 a.m. they will have the main roads salted and plowed. 33 degrees by 10:00 a.m. 35 by noon even we are melting the stuff. sliding back to 31 by 6:00 a.m. 37 in allentown, 38 in philadelphia and millville. 39 in cape may. tomorrow a system gets past us a colder shot of air comes back, 34 tomorrow. mos

over south jersey and southern delaware. this is at 6:30 in the evening. now that snow line is starting to creep out of the poconos, out of the lehigh valley, berks county and chester and breaking over areas like the suburbs, philly and mercer county. this is at 9:30 at night. still a steady snow over south jersey, but by midnight everything pretty much starts to move out of the area. overnight though with temperatures below freezing we could see some slick spots on roadways especially for the tomorrow morning drive. snow totals we're starting with the highest amounts 4 to 8 inches possible, these are in southern delaware where we've already had some reports of up to 5 inches falling. go to those shaded in the lighter purple color, 4 to 6 inches, this stretches through kent county and lower portions of new castle county as well as into cumberland, cape may, atlantic county, burlington county. and about half of camden and gloucester county. the 2 to 4 inch range, that's areas like cherry hill up through philadelphia and into

also, south jersey. advisories in new castle county, delaware, also into southeastern pennsylvania for lesser amounts. but look at ultimate doppler. you can see already snowing sussex county, cape may county. we'll zoom in. some reports of one to 2-inches in cape may county and sussex county. so the snow will begin from south to north. over night tonight by day break toward the philadelphia area. some of the steadier snow by midday continuing into the afternoon. take look at fox future cast. by lunch time moderate snow across much of the area. even toward the poconos. for tomorrow afternoon, we're looking at the snow. some mixing beginning down the shore so that will limit those totals along the immediate shore points. but most of the snow tapers off late tomorrow evening. by sunday, mostly sunny skies, and it will stay chilly. four to sick inches sections of south jersey, central southern delaware. two to four right along the i-95 corridor immediate suburbs. one to 2-inches for the poconos and sections

you mentioned that the snow is falling in south jersey. lets take a look at storm scan three right now and see where snow is. starting to streak in from the south, this is same system to brought snow to portions of the deep south, carolinas and virginia right now and you can see the first snow falling across the southern cape may county, cape may point, down through west cape may and portions of the delaware beaches seeing snow as we speak as we zoom in. rest of the region is dry for now but overnight we will continue to see that moisture stream north and east and eventually it will blanket the whole area winter weather alerts follow this system up through eastern see game. you can see pink, purple, they are winter storm warnings as we zoom in for our area all of south jersey and southern 23rd of the delaware in the winter storm warning that begins late tonight, philadelphia and surrounding suburbs in the winter weather advisory, and, and tonight, your snow time line, snow will develop depending where you are late this evening or overnight

through trenton, philadelphia and interior south jersey. some heavier rain by about nine, 10:00 o'clock and then behind this drying out during the overnight. the front swings through. clouds during the morning increasing sun during the afternoon. when you look at the amount of rain it's not a lot. but it will be falling in short period of time. so basically around half an inch up to 710ths of an inch in the poconos as it moves through tomorrow morning. and then it's just out of here. when we look at the temperatures you have mild temperatures with those southerly winds along the coastal plane and then you have these westerly winds coming from obviously the midwest and the northwest where you see those blue contours that is the much cooler air. it will be a shock to the system consider this. 60 today's. that blue contour, that's 40s tomorrow. that arctic blast sends into the region by friday into saturday and we're talking about highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s. cold enough for snow. as weak system moves by late friday and early saturday

we have winter weather alerts in place, winter storm warnings south and east of i95 , and south jersey, they're in place through tonight, winter weather advisory in place along the i59 corridor, also into chester, montgomery, bucks counties in delco, that's through tonight, as well. temperatures are in the 30's, 36 degrees in philadelphia, 33 millville, 34 degrees in atlantic city. however, dew point are keeping really dry. so have to get the air to saturate before you start to see the snowflakes falling to the ground. that's going to happen throughout the day today. we continue with this cold, throughout the week, and then as we head into the middle of the upcoming week, the bottom just falls out. that's due to a very big dip in the jet stream, that's going to be arriving by the middle of the week, just look at the arctic air that will plunge down into our neighborhood. temperatures only in the 20's for some, right around 30 degrees, in philadelphia. periods of snow throughout the day today. high temperature right around 36 degrees. for those numbers to fall just little bit headed int

so this should shut down for parts of delaware and also parts of south jersey rather soon. let's go ahead and move in. take a look hour by hour in your neighborhood. right now we are looking at snow across the area, temperatures in the 20s. we get a little break about 2:00 in the morning. not for the poke coknows and parts of lehigh valley, parts of south jersey, you may see a little mix there of a rain/snow mix as temperatures start to rise but the snow moves right back in as the system starts to lift to the north and east. back into the philadelphia, maybe a little mixing going on in parts of northern delaware, still, we're just getting snow in the lehigh valley, poke coknows. by the time 7:00 rolls around little mixing in through delaware and philadelphia. still, snow for the upper pennsylvania suburbs and the lehigh valley and by 9:30 it's gone. temperatures are then above the freezing mark out there. how much are we going to get? some of these totals they could be in excess of two inches in lehigh valley, maybe the upper pennsylvania suburbs. philadelphia may be one to

lighter snows across western portions of south jersey. let's go over to the radar now, we have a band that's running parallel to the pennsylvania turnpike. we'll see somewhasouth of theres another band across south jersey him we'll make a zoom that will be in the northern band. the set up across south jersey for the most part this is very light fluffy snow falling, the gray representing probably a couple of flurries or more than that where you're seeing the brighter whites that's where the heavier snow is falling. we have a band across burlington county and another band north and west of philadelphia. that's the one running parallel to the schuylkill expressway. if you live anywhere from the just south of phoenixville, downingtown and exton all the way into willow grove and horsham. the snow is coming down at a good clip that crosses the river into south jersey and right through trenton and over the coast of monmouth county. this is the band where we're seeing heaviest snow. it's falling in malvern, radnor lansdale and limerick. here's a
