this is a bart officer. you know what, we do know and again, this is very early in the investigation, what we do know is that a bart officer was at this location 7th and chester. there were two individuals. the bart officer who was dressed in full police uniform did discharge his firearm. we have two adult males that were taken to the hospital. i know there's going to be a lot of questions about, was any of the individuals struck? we can share with you that we do know both individuals had gunshot wounds but we cannot confirm that this was from the discharge of the bart officer's firearm. i'm going to share with you the reason why. the reason why is because we recovered a firearm from the scene. so let me go over this again with you. 4:41 p.m., the oakland police department was requested to assist bart with an officer- involved shooting. our oakland police officers arrived at 7th and chester. when officers arrived they learned that a bart officer dressed in full police uniform had discharged his firearm. ther

this shooting involved a bart police officer who was on duty at the west oakland bart station across the street from us. that officer saw two men struggling with one another here in front of this barber shop and restaurant across the street. according to investigators one of the two men was holding a gun. that police officer shot and killed that man. the other men involved in the initial dispute also ended up getting shot and wounded. this all happened yesterday at 4:30 in the afternoon outside of the uppercuts barber shop on seventh street. this is just across the street from the west oakland bart station. we have not received the identities of either of the two men over shot yesterday. also we do not know the identity of the officer involved. we did talk with a woman in the area at the time and she says she witnessed the initial argument which may have started inside the restaurant here and she saw the bart police officer respond. >> i heard the dispute and when he got shot they came running across the street.>> reporter: the police department for bart is conducting its own investi

bart is all back on schedule now. the first trains out of the gates this morning, they were moving slowly just to be on the safe side. this is something that is standard procedure, any time there is an earthquake, this is done out of an abundance of caution, they were out inspecting the car tracks this morning, following the quake, inspectors didn't find damage at that time. the first trains that left this morning on each individual line, they traveled at a reduced speed, that's so the operator on board those bart trains could keep an eye out and check for anything that seemed unusual along those tracks and the operators did not find any damage or anything that seemed out of place and so because of those inspectses and because the trains were moving slowly this morning, therein eggsly was a 20-minute delay systemwide. but, things are back on track. >> i haven't looked at the news or checked what's going on. >> things are running slow. >> okay. >> they're making sure the tracks are safe. they look okay. >> that's good
