abc 7 news reporter tiffany wilson is live at the hotel with some new details. tiffany? >> reporter: good morning, jessica. i recently spoke to a staff member of the wyndham garden inn. they said that this barricade has been going on since 4:00 or 5:00 yesterday afternoon. so that puts it at more than 12 hours. that staff member says that one person is inside with the suspect. so a suspect in at least one hostage barricaded inside of a room. everyone else staying on that floor has been evacuated. all of those patrons have been put in other rooms in this hotel or sent to other hotels nearby. now, police very, very strong police presence by the san jose police department. the s.w.a.t. team is here, as well as the fire department. they've been stationed here on stand by. i spoke to some firefighters and they said it's been very quiet since they have been here overnight. in fact, it's been quiet the past several hours that we've been here. they are just waiting this out, being patient with the barricade situation going on inside of the hotel. we do hope to hear from police a

abc7 news reporter tiffany wilson live at chp headquarters in san francisco with this developing story. >> reporter: good morning. chp says it's impossible to tell whether the shooting was targeted at this point. the victims were also inside a black escalade, five people inside, three suffered gunshot wounds. all are expected to survive. the glow of flares greeted early morning commuters trying to make their way south on 280 today. everybody was exited at lemany boulevard. >> we collected quite a bit of evidence from the scene, including shell casings. >> reporter: officers started receiving calls about the shooting at 2:50 this will morning. three people suffered gunshot wounds. the victims drove themselves to the hospital. >> the three parties that were at the hospital, all suffered what would be deemed to be nonlife-threatening injuries. and some are, i believe one or two are still there for treatment now but will be released soon. >> investigators have already interviewed the shooting victims. >> they all indicated they did not see anything. they're not speaking to why they were sh
