you started in center city. moved to rhawnhurst. where are you now and what are you seeing. >> reporter: we're in bustleton this morning. we started off with the rain, it turned and now a mix and now we are seeing snow we are taking a live look, coming to you live from verree road in bustleton. you can see for the most part it is looking good, still. still very clear. you can see obviously the moisture, the gloss on the road, it is because we are seeing now over the last 45 minutes some slushy patches, so every now and then again you will see a large swath of is what slush in the middle of the road as we turn here i want to see what these side roads are like. we took 76 we took roosevelt boulevard, main arteries are looking good but as we turn down some of these side streets we are seeing a little bit more trouble, starting to see more slushy patches. you can see on the ride of the road there are cars are covered by snow, the sidewalks , they are starting to get covered. they are very slushy. i can say personally as i stepped outsid

meteorologist matt peterson is inside with a look at the roads in center city. matt, good afternoon. how is it looking. >> good afternoon rahel and jim it is definitely starting to get messy out here in center city. we'll take you right to our dash cam you can see out front of the mobile weather watcher windshield wipers going the snow as lauren said in center city really in about the last hour an hour, 40 minutes has really pick up in intensity. lots of big wet snowflakes coming down and the roads are now starting to get a slushy coating on them. i wouldn't call it an accumulation but definitely a slushy coating on. of the roadways not just on the side streets but we're talking across the board so it's going start to get slippery. i have not seen too many people driving. there is someone in front of us right now. but the good news is, not a whole lot of people have been on the roads. so that means that people are staying inside. they're heeding the warnings to not be driving around in all of this nasty weather. and the other thing is i haven't seen too many plo

right now we are seeing snow coming down with the few rain drops mixed in center city philadelphia, dealing with precipitation wintry mix for several hours. little more intense over portions of south jersey and this area of precipitation over spreading in the northwestern suburbs seeing light snow, and flurries in the poconos. light snow coming down as we speak. as we head throughout the day the system will only intensify for 9:00 o'clock hour dealing with snow, sleet rain milk in 33 degrees but by second half of the morning and in the afternoon we are dealing with heavy snow, blustery conditions, and then even a few, rumbles of thunder possible because of the intensity of this storm, as far as snowfall totals throughout the day-to-day, forecast looking right on track. we have expanded the totals, higher even totals into portions of south jersey, so in and around 95 to 12 inches of heavy snow and 10 to 14 toward lehigh valley. so this is just getting. >> heavy snow too can be really dangerous. much. we are looking outside and ing an eye on volume, how many vehicles are getting outoa

about 3-inch center city what we're seeing. you can see how this snow sticks to everything. all of the tree branches, power lines when peoplesgo outside it's going to look like a winter wonderland because it is sticking to everything. i know we just had the storm on friday. a lot of tree limbs came down because they were getting heavy stuck with this kind of snow and so hopefully that doesn't happen during this storm but we're just getting started and you can see at this point already so early in the morning everything's coated here. i'm going to get down here and just show you how easily some of this snow can pack right here. one handed perfect snowball, guys, so really thick heavy snow. it's going to be on your cars, all over your property, things like that. i'm going to sound repetitive here but it's going to be heavy to remove so make sure you have the proper form and conditioning. make sure you're keeping track of yourself when you're out there working on removing this stuff but out here in havertown pretty steady t roads getting slippery, getting slushy at this point.
