john rawlins is live in delaware county with a look at how towns reeling from last week's storm is preparing for what is coming next. but first meteorologist, adam joseph, with how much snow we'll see. >> it's all about location it's a classic event that north and west gets most of the snow and south and east gets the mix and mainly rain along the shore. stormtracker 6 live double scan here is is the energy we talked about this yesterday diving into the ohio valley and notice the precipitation is broken in nature, that is beginning to fall apart because it's pushing the energy into the atmosphere to the coast and it's filling in with precipitation to the coast and heading up the eastern seaboard and it ramps up tomorrow and winter storm warning in every area in pink. a large amount of real estate from northern parts of maine new england and down to the mid-atlantic including philadelphia, lehigh valley and poconos. and the blue area is an advisory for parts of new jersey and northern delaware. the pink zone is where the heaviest snow is going to fall. the impact scale getting rain or sleet.

john rawlins is live now with more on that part of the story. >> reporter: this is a race to get this done before what ever hits us here hits us. at the peak we had 637,000 customers out of power and yesterday evening 50,000, and they cut that number in half but still racing to try to get people back online as fast as possible. but that brings us to the story today. bringing in state crews from parts of pennsylvania to help clear out trees. >> the state foresters dozens of people pitched in in hard hit delaware county. the goalp peco reestablish power but given all the trees, so the state crews hit the ground running yesterday to supplement the private companies and township and borough crews clearing trees. and some people out of power still after 90 some hours. >> there is a lot of frustration in the community about the pace of recovery and restoring power but these folks are here to help us, they are not charging the residents and trying to clear driveways and streets. and the safety element is a concern and wires are a big deal but they are not here to take the debris with them. >

we want to turn now to john rawlins. live in havertown. you talked to people worried about the next storm because they are still trying to clean up from the last one. >> reporter: the two go together. we are at the 1200 block. and there was a tree that brought down the power lines and such. that is gone and the crew clearing it is gone. this is happening all over the region. people are clearing trees that is an important step to get power back and get roads ready to plow if need be. progress comes slowly. more more than 72 hours this huge tree in norwood blocked peco crews. but this morning progress. this group of pennsylvania foresters give the green light to cut up the tree. and the way for utility crews to arrive to restring power lines. the goal restored power for dana cavanaugh and her neighbors. >> now you need a peco crew? >> that is is the hope to see them very soon. fingers crossed before the snow comes. >> before the forecasted nor'easter that on the mines of many involved in cleanup. here in havertown it brought down 75 trees. a

"action news" reporter john rawlins live outside the peco facility in plymouth meeting and john crews working really hard right now to try to keep up with all the demand today. >> reporter: oh,, at this point i don't think they can keep up. i think mother nature wins this round. they will keep up once this is all over. as the storm intensified today the number of outages went up. around noontime we had 30,000 in the peco system that went to 40,000 by 1:15, by 2 o'clock over 80,000 and most recent numbers about 130,000 customers who are in the dark. the fast accumulating snow hit hard beginning at about 1 o'clock. but the gusting wind that seemed to paint that snow onto the sides of cars began much earlier. shortly after 11:00 winds took down this tree in the 300 block of wear road in pike creek new castle county. earlier aston delaware county, this large tree fell and blocked bridgewater road pulling down power lines. peco crews quickly swarmed the the goal, to restore a 7600-volt line and transformer. peco's storm room operations is directing a large number of crews including 200 pri
