he said i'm from oregon. he had playedre on the oregon state resulting that had lost, or had one against wallace wade team. they are in a foxhole twohe years later the muller war here is one of these other quinces of these two teams coming together. there are more of those stories that i write about throughout the book. the winning score was an unbelievable catch by little a guy named jean grey. he got the longest rose bowl touchdown pass in history at the time and it won the game. four years later those same hands and arms i had caught the winning touchdown were now gone. he fought as a pilot in the war and decided to stay in the army air force and lost both his arms and an awful training accident after the war. this book is meaningful toop me. i hope for those of you get the chance to read it you can take something away about service and sacrifice in about a unique time in our history. some of the same things, paying players, academics, concussions, all theam same issues 75 or 80 years ago. i hope you enjoy

we gave some money to the university of oregon. david: what is left for you to accomplish? phil: i look back on the last couple years and i am happy with those years, particularly the philanthropy i have been able to do. there will be more going ahead, but i take my time. i feel good about things. david: do you consult with your wife on that? phil: absolutely. she has final approval. david: where did you meet your wife? phil: she was one of my students. she was a better student than i was. the manufacturing technology is changing very rapidly. at there somewhere, five or 10 years, there will be some shoes manufacturing done in the u.s.. there will not be many jobs. it will be very automated. david: you are a runner for a long time, until 70. you do not have any artificial knees or hips. how did you avoid those problems by running so much and not having damage to your body? are you a graceful runner? not much strain on my knees because they did not have too much muscle mass. past by a 70, i got woman with a baby carriage. i realized i should quit trying to run and just walk.
