how much will we see, closer to the philadelphia area, 2 to 6 inches, west of philadelphia, 5 to 9, closer to the lehigh valley, allentown, 7 to 12 inches of snow expected. and not a whole lot right down the shore. if you're getting your foot out the door this morning, temperatures are in the 30s for most of the area. even the 20s, it's a cold start in atlantic city. only 27 degrees. temperatures will post into the high 40s with light rain starting already by the time you get into tuesday night right around 8:00. >> starting tuesday night. then we got wednesday morning. let's talk about the commute because i think people often with a storm like this get confused because they start with the morning commute and they say, oh, it's not that bad. but we are planning it, we talked about this, different commutes will have different impacts. tomorrow morning might just be snow in some neighborhoods but by tomorrow afternoon, as brits was showing off, the rain is going to pick up and then that will taper off and then the snow. >> that's tomorrow's commute. this morning's commute, how are we dealing

even the impact its having right now in the philadelphia area. let's begin with glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> this storm is still intensifying offshore. this is not the worst of the storm but we're seeing the circulation very clearly on the radar right out into the ocean and the low-pressure center just to the east of the jersey shore. what this is doing is driving the colder air down to the south and so look at these bands of snow coming this way, coming from north jersey and northeastern pennsylvania down toward allentown, buckingham and bucks county getting some of that and even starting to see it getting into abinnington and parts of philadelphia itself. the western side of this storm not producing nearly as much as precipitation. heavier snow in trenton, virtually nothing in delaware at the moment and rain in south jersey. so quite a variety of conditions across the area. as we go through the afternoon as the storm continues to intensify, the darker blue indicating heavier snow and we have an issue here, especially in new jersey closer to t

in bucks, chester and delaware philadelphia counties. we're at the highest level we're taking extreme precaution, trying to make sure we have the necessary apartment of crews on the treat. drivers had to battle dark roadways where kelly drive where lights were out. it made for a difficult friday evening commute. a lot of downed trees. the roads have been slippery. and i'm sitting in a lot of traffic. so just patients patience. certainly a lot of patience today is needing. driving was no easy task just trying to get around. there are thousands and thousands of peco customers here in publicity without power on this very cold night. we know the peco crews will be working all throughout the night to restore power as quickly as possible but the winds are still fears at this point. so gusting here. i have my hat objection to the form it will be no easy task for the crews to get to tonight and throughout the morning as well. be patient and throughout the morning as well. natasha brown. cbs 3. it could be a rough commute at 30th street in the mo

this is west ritner street in south philadelphia one of the smaller streets that we see in south philadelphia, and it is actually pretty clear, it is the worst we have seen so far driving around, i was on i-95, broad street and it was all, clear, so you can see, here on ritner street and some of the neighborhoods just residual snow on the side of the cars, that is really as much as we are seeing, we are going to try to turn down these more longer streets in the neighborhoods but you do see that a lot of the cars, the snow has melted off, you can see that car hasn't been cleaned off and it just has an inch or two, a dusting, coating, here, here to there, on different, cars. what we do want to mention is that just to get people started and back into work that the city is actually opening up on time but archdiocese and, public schools here in the city are on a two hour delay, just to give people time, to get acclimated, you know, clean up a little bit but as you can see, our patties pretty much clear, so far, in south philadelphia and i check with the national weather service and they are saying
