but scott is right. why can't somebody want reasonable measures on guns and still believe in the second amendment? the problem is a lot of people are calling for some of these laws, they do ultimately want to ban guns and a lot of people in america who own guns know that. and so they are, you know, when they start hearing these things, they know that some of those people do want to ban guns. laws that are completely reasonable, as scott says, they don't support them because they think, hey, that is just the first step to you trying to take away my guns. of course, not everybody calling for these reasonable measures like background checks. that seems pretty reasonable. what is the problem there? although one of the problems is some of these people shouldn't have passed background checks that did. we are hearing from a lot of these shootings like someone called the fbi and said, hey, this guy is messed up, i'm worried he is going to shoot up a school and they ignored it. the problem is there are some peopl

scott: the dollar will strengthen. in a lot of turbulence in the near-term is coming from the rhetoric of the white house. julie: do you think that is subject to debate? scott: no, but the rhetoric changes. i am not sure we will be hearing the thing rhetoric around the dollar. tariff issue -- one thing i think that washington is having a hard time understanding is the trade deficit is the other side of the capital account surplus. we are expecting to sell a trillion dollars relative of u.s. government debt and we have an economy that generate $600 theion in savings, continued reliance upon foreign capital to buy our debt is going to put pressure on increasing the trade deficit. mathematical reality. that should put pressure on the dollar. i think the short-term rates rising will carry the day and the dollar will rise. >> government debt and household debt or a concern -- were concerns in the last recession. willu think corporate debt be the trigger in the future recession? t: people should be dramatically upgrading the

i'm scott wapner we do begin with a sell-off in stocks as fears of a trade war with china continue to ripple through global markets with us for the hour today, jim laichb thaul, jon and pete najarian kevin o'leary, the chairman of otf. and we begin with stocks under pressure industrials, techs, financials pete, tell me what's going on. inflation a little hot, retail a bit weak real worries about a trade war and escalating one with china and all of it is having an impact on the market red in many sectors today. >> on the top of that list i'd put the concerns i don't want to overplay this, but the concerns of a trade war, scott. we saw it yesterday right before you went on the show, the market was looking pretty strong. we start to sell off and i think a lot of that sell-off in the latter part of the day was some of the concerns that people have about what this administration is doing and how they're going to be operating going forward. that puts everybody at a little bit of a disadvantage right now because they really don't know. >> i'm wondering if we're at the risk of underplaying it
