and vineland 48 degrees and fortescue upper 30s and 43 in dover. what we are tracking now is on satellite 6 along with action radar we see the low pressure coming out of the northern plains. the same one for the blizzard warnings across the region, this area of low pressure moves across the great lakes and then we have a coastal low develop and this is our nor'easter that throws back moisture our way with the northeasterly wind as early as tomorrow. and really in some spots tonight. here is future tracker 6, 8:00 this evening light snowfall is breaking out in the western suburbs and during the overnight hours, light snow and some mixed precipitation taking place in the city, rain across south jersey and delaware. you wake up tomorrow morning and think there is not a whole lot happening, just wait as we go throughout the rest of the afternoon. 6:00 in the morning light snowfall will be around and allow extra time for the commute. down across south jersey and delaware still that rain and look at what happens as the area of low pressure works into the

vineland, clear. morris river, clear. here is that intense band that is still making its wait from trenton to atlantic city through southampton. toms river about to get clipped by that. and ships bottom also. but you can see that's where the heaviest snowfall rates are at this point. that's also where we have the threat for thundersnow. up in the lehigh valley, look at, this chestnut hill going to be clearing soon. lehigh, clear. buckingham on the edge of clearing. abington, just beginning to clear. again, woodbury, clear. glass grow breaux, clear. vineland, clear. morris river, we're going to waltz through all of these. ocean city starting to clear. not atlantic city. you're stuck with all this. the thundersnow today producing lightning strikes. somebody was struck right there in manchester. well can see exactly the time that that one lightning strike came down in the middle of snow. so that was thundersnow. same as the thunderstorm with rain. it's just the cold, cold air, and it is snow that comes down in a big burst. y

as we go toward washington, even toward vineland. this is what we watch for. pockets of where there is really no rain right now, a little bit of a break, and that's just to the east of salem. so that's why we kind of watch inside the storm, we move it out there. it's sitting in new jers now, keep an eye on things for us. the center of the storm moving into pennsylvania. the snow wrapping around it. watch what happens with these very high winds hour by hour. we are in the 40s. we'll be watching those winds coming out of the south, then the west. here we are at 7:30 a.m. with the rain, the wrap-around snow is going to start to move in. look at the temperatures, above freezing. so this snow may not stick. the winds are going to make it blow around by the afternoon. it certainly will stick in the poconos where we're below freezing. then watch what happens in the evening. those winds really pick up. and that's when we could see the blowing snow. still above freezing though, so not expecting much in the way of accumulation across much of the area. by saturday mornin

vineland and atlantic city at 31 degrees. the winds not nearly as strong as they have been the last couple of days, but still breezy to low end windy throughout the day. here are the actual temperatures. about a 10-degree difference from the feels-like. 37 in allentown. 38 in philly. almost 40 in atlantic city. the temperatures will continue to climb into the mid-40s again this afternoon. take a lock at radar and satellite. we have high clouds like yesterday. kind of that milky sky is what i expect once the sun is up. the good news, they're going to continue to pull out and thin out off to the east with that storm center still slowly chugging away from us. so that means we're going to have more sunshine in the forecast as we start to progress into the afternoon. how about the temperature trend? we're not going to climb a ton, but we'll go from upper 30s into the mid-40s this afternoon. it was mid-40s because the winds will feel more like, yep, the mid-30s. we are going to have a huge warmup today. still chilly. like i mention

vineland looks to be dry right now. reading also seeing light rain. take a look at allylten. we're starting to see some of the rain switchover to snow. so that's what we're watching is all of this rain switching over to wet snow, and it could happen right over your evening commute. we'll have more detail on that, but for our coastal flooding issues we'll send it over to meteorologist steve sosna. >>> so the coastal element is a significant one at that. it just depends on what neighborhood you're in. not a lot of action right now in philadelphia. chilly, it's raw but not terrible. a live look at ocean city, new jersey, right now. the boardwalk. that soft churning right now and i've been watching the pressure falls off the east coast. some other indicators we had a 66 mile per hour wind gust down in virginia, and we've also been watching in and around the washington, d.c. area of wind gusts of 60 to 62 miles per hour. taking a look at the coastal aspect of this storm that's certainly on the board here with this morning's high tide and evening high tide with minor to potentially

the rain line was originally way down here and we had snow through vineland, through toms river and now we can see some of the morning it's progressing farther westward closer to the city as we expected it to do and then later changing to snow when the storm really intensifies. let's look a little closer at some of this right now and storm tracker showing malvern, downingtown, coatesville you're not getting much so far. honey brook just a few snow flurries, a little bit more now in pottstown, chadds ford not a lot happening. in the city itself, we see some brighter snow. it's coming down pretty good. earlier we saw lots of areas of lavender. i was showing you right here. and that's not so much the case right now. this right here is getting about 2-inches an hour but see what's happening, the rain is starting to take over as it gets a little closer to the city so we're watching this begin to change. changes back to snow later on and i'll show that you one in a minute. let's look at satellite and radar right now. and we can see this area of low pressure, the storm just starting to take sh

now we get down into south jersey and we're getting a burst of heavier snow near morris river, vineland and you can see we get over toward sea isle city and we're seeing rain, even thunderstorms are going to be possible with this. so you can see this is kind of wavering back and forth, salem, you are looking right now at snow also. wilmington, middletown, all the way down to dover where we have a mixing line between rain and sleet and some snow mixing there. you get into southern delaware, and that's where we're looking at basically just rain that's out there. so, across the area, you get the pretty good idea that we have a little bit of variety of stuff going on, changing constantly. this is going to go back and forth. we also have our storm range, our radar on wheels that's out and at this point, it's in montgomery county, collegeville and it's radiating around, picking up snow for a good portion of montgomery county, into delaware and chester county, but look at this mixing line, cutting right through philadelphia and south jersey. so, that's the line along that i-95 corridor that is
