did they think they'd see this day, gloria? >> wolf, let me just say i'm very proud of andrea constand. very proud of all of the 33 accusers that i represent. those who spoke out and some who didn't speak out against mr. cosby but did provide evidence and information to the prosecution. proud of all of them including the three who testified prior bad act witnesses in this case. all of whom were vigorously attacked by the defense with smear tactics, with ugly innuendo, with attacks on their motives and their character which were totally unjustified. none of them were seeking money. none of them were seeking fame. all of them were seeking justice. they wanted their truth to be known and they endured such a vicious and ugly cross-examination but they persisted and prevailed. it is a great day for and all of the accusers and the me too movement, for women because women have been believed. in this case, i've always said, wolf, how many women will it take before one woman is believed against the denials of a rich, power, famous man?

cnn political analyst david gergen joins me as well as gloria borger. gloria, the president we have seen over the last couple of days, i'm wondering, is this kind of the unrestrained version of him or the less restrained version we should be seeing more of or expect to see more of going forward? >> i think we are. i think this is the president now who has been talking to friends and i have talked to some of his friends who are saying he feels like he's kind of, he knows how to do this job. he's got it under control. he has said publicly that i'm sort of close to getting the cabinet i want. he's listening to people who he's comfortable with, the people that show up in his living quarters night after night from fox news, and those are the people i believe he's consulting as well as his own instincts because now, he told one friend you know, i've got this. i know how to do this. and so you're seeing things not only on policy that he seems to announce as jim acosta was talking about, such as troops at the border or withdrawal from syria before there's been

gloria borger has the latest. >> reporter: alex and christine, the fbi agents that raided michael cohen's home, office and hotel room on monday were looking for communications between then candidate trump and cohen and perhaps others about efforts to prevent the release of the infamous "access hollywood" tape. you remember this. it captured donald trump making lewd remarks about women before the election. the warrant specifically references trump in the search warrant. that is a direct mention of donald trump in the search warrant. sources say it appeared in connection to the tape. this warrant is the first indication that the investigators suspect there was an effort to suppress the tape. we don't know what, if any, role cohen or the president would have played in that. we are also learning that investigators wanted records pertaining to bank fraud and wire fraud investigations and on top of that, the warrant involved communications about other potential negative information about trump that the campaign might have wanted to contain ahead of the election. what we don't know is what addit

gloria borger joins us with the exclusive. what are you learning about president trump and rod rosenstein? >> discussing with advisers whether he ought to fire the deputy attorney general. he has been in his crosshatch for quite some time. but the michael cohen raid has taken it to a different level. but, there are lots of different voices in that room. there are people trying to calm the president down and say wait, don't do anything yet. some of his attorneys are telling us that he is not going to fire rosenstein. some are saying rosenstein is conflicted witness here. we have a good case to make against him if we need to do that. and they also believe that you know, he is important to the mueller case because of course don't forget he wrote the memo about the firing of comey and they are saying look, this is a clear conflict and we can make that case and by the way, you have already made a good case about disqualifying the fbi because you think that their investigation has not been credible and has been contaminated. so the
