but i could tell there was a lot of nervousness and energy in the room with mcdonough and daley and brennan. i just felt that something was off or something was about to happen. so the president comes in to the room. i'm about that far away from him and i take two shots. that's the first. and the second shot you can see brennan waving me out of the room. i was like, okay. that's happened before, so it's no big deal. but then we find out sunday night when he goes on the air and says we've got osama bin laden. and then i find out later that was the moment they decided, the mission is a go. >> one thing i like about this sequence of photos is that it seems to capture kind of the presidency in like various states, very serious and somber kind of like whimsical with the clintons and with the photo of bush and cheney. so my question for all of you is, just can you -- can you talk about kind of the emotional like tone of being around the president? like obviously it is not -- every day is not a serious day. every day is not sort of like a loose, light-hearted day. it is a job, and like all jobs, t

the mayor of chicago is richard daley, who does not like to have the machine messed with. as the protesters increasingly hist to surge, he calls out cops. what happens next will be called a "police riot." you know what that is? >> beating up the civilians basically. prof. faulkner: here is a nightstick upside the hippie head. in fact, outside of the convention, the news cameras are rolling, the pictures are being taken. public seesamerican on tv is young, american citizens being hit in the head by the man, and being carried off. but as they are getting whacked in the head, the convention thegates here the chance -- whole world is watching, the whole world is watching, the whole world is watching. just to sort of see how crazy we have gotten, there is also a third-party candidate running in 1968. his name is george wallace. anybody remember george wallace? >> [indiscernible] >> crazy, crazy right wing. >> wanted to go back to way worse. i will give you law and order by the bayonet. prof. faulkner: ok. a former governor of alabama. what do you think former governors of alaba

in fairness it was the user growth, daley active users, only up 1 1/2% or so i think everybody is hyper attuned to the slowdown. when is the slowdown going to happen. looks like it's here. stuart: is there any similarity to the dot-com bubble? let me explain that. in the 1990s, people jumped on board dot-coms because they thought they would expand and grow forever. they could never see an end to it. >> right. stuart: the end came to the growth, some of those stocks cocollapsed. is there any similarity with social networks today? >> i think there is in terms of expectations. trees do not grow to reach the sky. you know that. growth has to decelerate. facebook, lost yesterday is more than entire market cap than mcdonald's. they have two billion people using facebook. how many more people can they get? they had to slow down at one point. how could they continue to grow at the same rate. this may very well be that point. stuart: i know you're not a stock-picker. i ask you anyway. would you buy the dip? >> i don't know that i would buy the dip. facebook is it a still a great long-term busine
