(terisa)so far so good... and the district is having a say in this as well... more on that in a moment... so - in 2016 , some students banned together and approached the district, here in alameda... they believed that girls were being wrongfully discriminated against, because the dress code, they said had more rues for girls then boys. so after a long process, many meetings and hearings, the district changed it's rules - basically stopping the practice of saying shorts are too short, or a student is showing too much skin. it used to be that teachers could measure the lenght of shorts or tops... if it was found a person was breaking the rules, then that was an infraction and change or wait for clothes to be brought from home... that created some embarassment for many students.... now, this year, there is more flexibility - and give and take. here is waht students and the district is saying on this day one of the new policy (take sot) .
