abc's matt canner joins us live in san jose. matt. >> reporter: well, reggie about 30 seconds ago i just got an update from a tech from the chp, they tell me there are no victims yet. they didn't have any details to help locate the suspect. they're doing a follow-up now. they do ask if anybody has seen anything suspicious an 680 this morning give them a call. morning commutes are never fun in the bay area but before 4:30 and 6:00 a.m. it was particularly difficult for drivers on northbound 680 in san jose. cars were being diverted off at the cap 208 express away exit. why the closure on a major freeway? the chp got a call about 3:00 this morning. a man said he was driving northbound on key road when all of a sudden someone started firing at his vehicle. he was hit in his back. he continued to drive all the way to 7-eleven to hostetler road. he was taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. his car had multiple bullet holes. for chp, that wasn't the only crime scene. that's when they decided they needed to shut down
