south florida. sowell florida has a young everybody -- south florida has a younger population, particularly the minority populations are young. a lot oftila aggressive registrn drives going on there. so, certainly, they can affect these very competitive congressional districts, but they're also going to affect governor's race and the senate if they turn out as we're thinking they might, at least we are expecting their turnout to be a bit higher. but they need to have a pretty high turnout to tip the direction of the election. it is true that they're most drawn interest wise to our extremely interesting governor's race, much more so than the u.s. senate race. after all, two candidates for governor, one is 40 years old and the other is 39. so it's just really fascinating. you cannot refuse or ignore this younger demographic particularly in these swing and very competitive areas. >> host: well, in that race what are the issues that are playing out? is and how, how to these younger people view those iss

i want to ask you about florida. it looks like both the senate and governor's races could be headed to a recount here. good evening to you. >> good evening. i should point out they're heading to different kinds of recounts. basically florida law is if the margin between the two top vote getters is less than .5 percentage points you have a machine recount. if it's less than .25 percentage points you're heading toward a manual hand recount that will look at the undervotes and over votes. the 2.5 marquee is being seen in the senate race right now. bill nelson continues to close the gap. he's still down to rick scott as we see, down 15,000 votes. that's a fairly significant margin. go back to 2000, for example. the margin was .3 percentage points. right now it's about six times that. but still with votes still to be counted and there are still provisional ballots to be counted statewide and there are still some mail ballots to be counted in palm beach county that margin can shrink even further. >> 50.1 to 49.9. how many

he's covered politics in the area in florida for many years. it's always florida. and again we're back in broward county. what's the latest? i'm sure you spoke to the scott cam too. i just spoke to them ten minutes ago. a judge said 7:00 eastern time, i want all the ballots to the scott camp. they got them. they called it a document dump. it's not actual documents. it came to them in terabytes. >> if you're looking at why these ballots keep trickling in the, vote count keeps coming up, this is coming from provisional ballots across the state. people showed up at the wrong precinct, maybe didn't have their id, or vote by mail. but it is absolutely southeast florida and broward county. you gave a great summary of the problems broward county has endured, but the list goes on and on. you're talking about a county that forgot to print a marijuana -- democrats concerned that maybe a goo goofy ballot may have caused people to overlooked the senate race. then you have the scott camp, rubio and others looking at broward county's recent history of breaking the law, illegally

we have a court in florida that has said there was a violation of the florida constitution. we have a court that has directed certain behavior out of the palm county election supervisors. we have courts that are saying follow the law that is not being followed. we know they are not following the law. they certainly weren't following the law. they were posting where they were supposed to be about the results of ballots coming in. it was the total number of ballots that have been cast. i think there's clear evidence the constitution was violated and a court in florida has said the same. >> it is true what you're saying about transparency. >> it's true. >> it's about meeting deadlines. florida's department of law enforcement said they haven't even received any allegations of criminal activity of fraud of stealing and the secretary of state's office said no evidence of criminal activity. so it seems to me like the rhetoric we are hearing -- >> what is a violation of the constitution? violating the constitution doesn't rise to the level of concern in florida? it absolutely rises.
