over to steve kornacki at the board. what do you have. >> steve, i understand we've got new important numbers out of some of those virginia house districts we've been looking at. >> we said, remember, there are four. four republican held seats. democrats are really going after it in virginia where we've got the most votes in. right now outside of washington, d.c. tenth district a name you've been hearing. a lot of that this year. barbara running for re-election. in a district hillary clinton won by ten points. it is less than 48% in right now. again, we've got well over 40,000 votes. interestingly you see where this vote is coming from. it's going to billion pretty instructive. this is louden county. outside of washington, d.c. this is the biggest chunk of the district. about 40% of the vote overall is going to come out of loudoun county. the democratic challenger running at 56%. 56% is the exact same vote total share that hillary clinton got in the loudoun county portion of tenth district of virginia. she's running at h

let's go to the big board and steve kornacki, what's the latest, steve? >> chris, still early, starting to come starting to come in. we have a complete county that is going to give you a sense of what we're going to see. warren county, you see in blue. this is vicksburg. you see statewide espy slightly ahead. 54% of the vote here, just to give you a sense of that means, compare that to what democrats typically do here. hillary clinton got 48% here in 2016. the interesting one is in 2012. barack obama, barack obama, kind of the high watermark for democrats in mississippi. obama got 44% statewide. the thing you want to keep in mind as the county results come in tonight is espy running on average six points or better above what obama did in 2012. so you see in warren county, there is improvement there forspy over what has been the high watermark for democrats. it's four. on average, he needs to get six. it's not six. but then look up here we flagged this one earlier. 60% of the vote in desoto county. this one of the largest counties in the state. this a very

joining us now is msnbc correspondent steve kornacki. thanks for being here. >> let's take a look at one particular region. we can find interesting races around the country, but i want to focus on the region that made donald trump president. remember election night, two years ago, pennsylvania had gone for obama, went for trump. ohio had gone obama, went for trump. michigan, wisconsin, iowa. all through the rust belt, the great lake states, the midwest, whatever you wanted to call it, all of these obama-trump voters and states, the reason donald trump became president. take a look, two years later, statewide races, governor's races, what are we seeing there? take a look at the polling. pennsylvania, remember, donald trump, the first republican to win this state since 1988, wins it in 2016. two years later, the democratic governor is coasting to re-election there. ohio, this one didn't just swing to trump, it swung hard to trump. he won ohio by eight points in 2016. you can see it. now the democrat may be slightly ahead in that race. mich

we go to msnbc's steve kornacki at the kornacki board. steve, what is happening in arizona? >> yeah, in arizona one of the couple of places on the map, lawrence, where the suspense is kind of building here. first of all, let me show you statewide. sinema the democrat has taken the lead of over 9,000 votes statewide. that happened this evening. there's one big reason for that and one smaller one. the big reason is this maricopa county, this is where phoenix is. this is like two thirds of the state almost population wise. this is the current running count in maricopa. i say running count because there are still hundreds of thousands of votes still to be added to this. they added them in batches. they added about 125,000 tonight. and from that 125,000 they favored sinema by more than 20,000. that was the margin that cod got added in here. this istusen, the part of the state sinema was from, also at added a big batch from there tonight. you add those two together and it was enough to have a 9,000 lead. they're going to keep counting tomorrow, into the weekend into next week. wha

the hardest working man is steve kornacki. every spare moment i look at him and he's in a different congressional district. what's the story as you look over your nation of 50 states there. >> well, it's still unfolding. i mean, i'll give you three real close ones we have right now. first of all, the arizona senate race. this is martha mcsally and kirst kyrsten sinema. 60% of the vote comes from one county in arizona, maricopa county. this is why it's so close. hillary clinton lost this state by three points in 2016. she lost this county by three points. sinema has managed to far with 84% to reverse that. that's why it's basic kaally deadlocked statewide. the wisconsin governor's race, a 6,000-vote margin separating walker from everers, democratic challenger. we updated this about a half hour ago. still, nothing more has come in from brown county, the biggest piece of real estate left on the board where walker can pick up some votes. also last time -- they're down to their final precincts in madison, dane county. every new pre

steve kornacki is back with us. let's start there. i want to dig into a few more races that you are perhaps following more closely than others. >> the dynamic is bredesen is polling better personally. also in these polls, they find they like president trump, he has a high approval rating there. so that is sort of the dynamic. if you're a democrat and you're looking at some scenario, you have to win to start one of three states. north dakota, heitkamp has to find a way to win. you need like eight of the other things to happen. every poll i've seen since labor day has had cruz ahead in that race. you look at tennessee, and you start to say, that's interesting. you see one here that is tied. you've seen others that others had blackburn ahead by five last week. i suspect if you average them together, she has a chance of a few points. when you have a candidate on on the democratic side would is as personally popular as bredesen is, if i get a bit of a break, maybe tennessee is an interesting one. if if that happens, that could open up some

joining me now, steve kornacki at the big board. ally first to you, where do we stand today with the recount in florida, in the governor and senate races? >> andrea, both of those recounts are underway. the one place that's getting a lot of scrutiny now, is palm beach county, and broward county. we heard that the rick scott campaign was seeking an injunction to put more law enforcement around the machines and ballots in broward county. and the judge said he didn't think he had the evidence to make that happen, but he suggested that, and these parties are going to reconvene in about an hour. he suggested that maybe you put three sheriffs who don't report to the supervisor of elections there, who has become a controversial figure in this. but he said something else that was interesting. you mentioned in your show open, people have been talking about fraud, but not providing any evidence of that, the judge took note of that, and cautioned everyone to tamp their rhetoric down. what's said in these election offices is taken seriously. wh

steve kornacki, if i made a nerd heartthrob across the land on tuesday night. tell us everything we need to know tonight. >> it is, election night is still going on, ari, it started in florida. look the governor's race, andrew gillum did concede, that margin .4 of a percent, automatic recount. there are some provisional ballots that will be counted the next day. we expect that gap will narrow a little. again, these 30,000 votes behind. where it starts to get interesting is the senate race. you see the mar join there. bill nelson is 15,000 behind scott. with provisionals, that could get closer. you are close enough now. it's not a recount. is will be the manual recount. they inspect them by hand. there is this issue out there in broward county, the big brattic bastion, he is winning two-to-one. it may cost nelson a couple thousand votes. >> that could be crucial state wide. you look at the result there. also georgia in the governor's race, you mentioned here, there are about 20,000 provisional ballots to be counted. there is an unknown number of absentee ballots
